fire wiz question

49 fire 23 ice for the 2nd best bolt and 3rd best ae dd/lower heat resist

or

50 fire 21 ice for best bolt and 4th best ae dd/heat resist

i swear that aoe heat debuff actually debuffs cold you know. I heard somewhere it was just listed wrong?

Going less than 50 spec is gimped.
Going Fire is err... your choice.

Go 50 fire 19 earth 7 ice for lowest lvl pbaoe looks like the lvl 48 pbaoe soo normally keeps stealthers away (well in theory) also gives all nice earth stuff gtaoe, area root, and OFC best bolt uber fire nukes etc have fun

I'm 50 Fire, and for PvE it rocks. The bolt cuts down on power costs for soloing/golding massively due to its damage. It does twice that of a DD for 1.5x the power. Also its so nice to get rid of anonying greens with a single spell guarenteed.

I did gimp myself slightly by taking cold one to high, but that will be sorted with 1.62 single line respec.

hmmm pbaoe do the same dmg on mobs... no timer.... and in grps it is evul.....

I suppose fire would be better for solo PvE but for grouping with smart people, Ice is the only way to go.

4 bubs in around two hours in sewers at lvl 49, I think it was last night. Just one ice wiz and a body sorc debuffing. So cute.

At the moment I wish I'd have kept fire at 47 instead of going to 50. There is a "fix" in 1.62 with the reduced cast time so bolts seem to be better in this patch. So any fire wiz who asks I recommend only 47 in fire and put the rest in earth. When 1.62 comes out decide whether to respec to 50 in fire.

Also go Earth with the extra points not Ice. Theres a bit more utility with Earth as Ice is a pure damage line like Fire and if you don't have a lot in Ice you won't do much damage. The lowest ice pbaoe is all you need as a mainly fire wizard.

I am 50 fire, 18 earth, 9 ice btw. I may swap to an Ice/Earth spec if I get a respec stone.

You are right it doesn't debuff heat. I tested it on a Minstrel friend and it didn't make any difference to the damage. The spell list on Catacombs where I got my info from is wrong.
