I personally want to get Empire Of The Sun on DVD, now you can get it in America at the moment but over here I would have to wait until October 1st....no wonder people get copies from other contries

Why do they feel the need to have 2 discs...one with the movie and as interesting as all the crap on the second disc can be, it surely makes it more expensive.

It's normally cos of the encoding process. Seems to be a bunch of bollox but the more space they leave for the movie, the better it's encoded and the higher the quality.
Also it makes it seem more speshul having two discs.
You don't say why you prefer getting Region 2.
If it's the higher quality (PAL vs NTSC) you're after then go for region 4 (australia - www.ezydvd.com.au ). They have odd release dates, some are the same as the US and some are the same as ours.
The benefits include...PAL encoding (slightly higher resolution than NTSC), the Warner brothers DVD's come in proper plastic amray cases and not shitty cardboard and the best bit is that they tend to edit the films less than the british. The matrix for instance.... the UK version has 8 headbutts cut out...the ozzy version doesn't.

Region 2 Discs tend to have a lot cut off their region 1 counterparts, mainly in the way of extras.
