In response to this thread some selfish silver haired git has now bought my phone off me.

So I need a phone with a bigger display. I have the Galaxy S6 (5.1 inch screen) and the LG G4 (5.5 inch screen) in mind so far and I am leaning towards the LG because I like LG phones but I am worried about it being a bit too big to be sat in my pocket and also a bit worried about the overheating issues they are meant to suffer. The S6 is meant to be a fantastic phone, it sounds damn near perfect but is it that much better than the S5 (likewise is the G4 that much better than the G3)?

@soze mentioned the OnePlusOne but I am leaning away from that for now, I just am....for now.

Any comments on the above, has anyone gone from the S5 to the S6 and thought "fuck me that was pointless it's no different"? likewise with the G3?

Advice appreciated.

You know what chum, the Sony apps pissed me off and the DRM protection thing also, I want a none Sony phone purely for those reasons. The actual phone was very good (thought the camera was very over rated though).

I'd go with a Samsung but I have no experience with LG's phones. Samsung are much less hands on with TouchWiz now so you get more Android and less pointless Samsung fluff on top.

You've also ignored the moto x which was the other top phone of last year, cheap too currently with the new version announced.

If size is an issue then the 5inch screen of the moto x is the answer.

I'd probably get the new moto x, or the moto x style. I'd say a oneplus two, but availability is probably not there.

Glasses make me fall over when I go up stairs :(

HTC M9 falls behind the LG and Samsung in every review I have read.

I haven't written off the OnePlusOne and I certainly like the idea of CM straight out the box, the reason for not getting one right away is I want to use Amazon and their customer protection. But if I get bored looking I may just get one.

Hmmm Motorola needs a look at.

Gone for a compromise in size and stuck in the middle of things plus after watching and reading *lots* of reviews not one phone has come out better than the one I have gone for. It has one minus but it is something I can live with (no SD). Also they come with a very good manufacturer 2 year warranty which afaik my next choice doesn't.

Galaxy S6.
