Yes Nath did have an avatar, I forgot about that god one. Never mind its still our duty to find him another one.

Hoff is tall but he is also a gigantic cock so I reckon we shouldn't use Hoff, yes Nath has his moments but he isn't Hoff bad.

I still like toht's, its exactly how I imagine Nath to look like.

A better pic of my avatar so everyone can see what Jup looks like...

You take that back

I had so much respect for you Trem, and now I find that you are Hoffaphobe, I can't believe the hypocrisy emanating from you just days after you accused FH of racism over your inability to animate your avatar.

I think a fitting punishment would be for a pic of Trems head to be photoshopped on to Hoff's trunks and made his avatar.

DRM is essential in these times and you are only going to see more of it, albeit in various different forms until they get it right.

Yeah but when they "get it right" most people will have no problem with it, myself included. That said, I'd question the whole "DRM is essential" thing, do you have evidence/statistics to back that up? Has their been any conclusive studies that show that DRM increases sales vs non-DRM products? It's a very difficult one to approach scientifically but I'd be interested to see any evidence that suggests the time, effort and money put towards implementing DRM schemes is worth it and increases sales vs not bothering.

... well you started it :).

There's nothing more I can really say as I am not legally allowed to share some of the things I know regarding piracy. Some of it is pretty shocking though.

Having said that, I'm not aware of any studies regarding DRM's relationship to sales figures on a general sense and wouldn't have thought that many exist, it's still very early days. It's always very hard to tell on what constitutes lost revenue in this respect, some people would genuinely not have bought it, some would have bought it, and many will lie about it.

You really, really need to believe me on this: DRM, or some better solution has to exist soon.

Not entirely sure what difference it makes whether I believe you or not. However, I expect if anything it's going to need to be another solution as can't see DRM ever not being broken unless the delivery system is fundamentally changed. Even then, people will almost certainly find ways around it but I expect the crucial point will be that it will become too much of a ballache for most people to bother.

It does strike me as interesting that (as far as I know) there's no conclusive evidence that the money spent on DRM is worth it at all. After all, business should be making these decisions based on rational evidence rather than just the assumption that piracy significantly harms sales. It sounds obvious and quite possibly is true but as Ben Goldacre likes to say "I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that".

Incidentally, Football Manager for 40 quid on Steam? Sort it out Wazz!

I've always got a image of the guy from the pink panther in my head, when I read Naths posts.
