There's a bar near me that plays rock / indie music and live bands. I was in seeing a band a couple of weeks back and I heard a song between bands that at first sounded like a song from the Burnout soundtrack (Operator - Nothing To Lose), but when I heard the lyrics I quickly realised it wasn't that song and that Operator had almost totally ripped off the chorus melody.

Here's the relevant bit:

It sounded like Rainbow or Deep Purple, possibly even Black Sabbath or even a bit like Kiss. I've done some iTunes searching of song snippets but haven't found it yet.

Can anyone guess or help?

Familiar, sounds, brain hurt, can't tell yet. It does sound like that really popular female vocalist, can't remember her name as it is,, but that's 2011 shit.

Adele, that's the one, someone like you. It's not the same, but reminded of it.

Sounds just like Chris Cornell, so maybe Soundgarden or Audioslave?

I've heard it in the distance over the years, so I was familiar with it but I only cared much for it when I heard it good and proper. I was pretty close with Black Sabbath :p.
