Got it this afternoon, is all right. There are a few improvements over the 13, but still a long way to go till then.

Tip: Grind for at least a half hour each stage you get to, else bosses will make you cry.

I bought FF13 ages ago and haven't even took the disc out the box yet, will be a while before I play this one. Currently playing nothing but FF7 though, never known a game stand the test of time as much as it has.

Final Fantasy goes down in price REALLY quick, the last one went down in price only a few weeks after it launched due to people trading it in a week later.

Wait for the price drop, you'll be picking it up for £20.

Yeah! So getting this one, glad that Square Enix listened to the fans and made a XIII-2 and fixed the stuff the fans was unhappy with. Only reason I played through XIII was the story, the gameplay itself was not good(Compared to older FF games).

Why is it called 13-2, is it a remake? It bugs me every time I see it!

No, it continues the story after XIII. But this time the gamestyle will be more similar to the older FF games.(Not the linear system they used in 13)

This game is £32 in Asda so I caved in when doing the shopping and picked it up. Had my collectors edition guide come yesterday so was annoying me sat there next to the last guide :)

Loving it so far, I really hope they do an FF13-3 with Lightning back in the group she's such an interesting character.

That review was garbage the guy moans about the cut scenes more than anything which im sorry but that's Final Fantasy, alot of talking in alot of cut scenes if you don't like that then FF isn't for you just don't knock it for that.

The current games take it to extremes though, I hated the last one it was just watch ct scene follow very linear path, combat rinse and repeat.

I wouldn't call them games, they're more like interactive movies. Not fit to clean the shoes of earlier ff games which were miles better.

have to agree with shagrat on this one, I did enjoy FFXIII but the newer games don't hold a candle to any of the older ones.

I'm playing through FFXIII at the moment and the only thing I can fault with it is that its linear, you are on a fixed path and can't choose where to go but I do love the cutscenes.

I will probably buy FFXIII-2 when it drops down in price.

i hope they go back to the old style of FF games tbh, open worlds is what made final fantasy so fun.... not having open worlds is basically reducing them to the typical rpg of today - that said 10 was still fun despite it not really having a proper open world and 12 I still enjoyed despite people hating the battle system.

Spent about 2 hours running back and forth because I was missing something obvious. Some pretty funny moments in the game too. Is going to be a weekend game for me really (Studies, gym, gf, work etc) - Certainly worth the play through so far.

I'm about 12 hours in so far and really enjoying it, I don't mind that it isn't free roam and tbh the market is getting a little too flooded with them for my liking.

There is plenty to do in this game considering its not as open as other games.

The main story so far is getting interesting if a little confusing but what FF story isn't bonkers right?

For £32 im very much enjoying the latest FF.

Actually the only real complaint I have is the side quests to put it nicely are shit just a short window filled with text you won't care about and off you go.

I was thinking of FF7 the other day and how I missed it. What platform you playing it on? I don't fancy airing its pixels on a hight def screen.

Heh I'm playing it on a PS3 man, it can be quite pixelated at times but there's a smoothing option when you press the PS button on your pad. I'm up to the Gold Saucer now and the graphics really aren't bothering my in the slightest.

I'm about 10 hours into and it's.. alright. Not bad, but not great. My biggest issue is (and has been from FFX10) is the lack of turn based combat, it's really been simplified far too much. I've focused on Noel as a Com, Sarah as a Rav and the monster as a Medic and I tear through everything, all i'm doing is smashing auto attack.

Are there any aeons in this game?

No.

I run the following, don't think I've been beaten by anything since I hit L99 and mid way through 30s and 40s on different lines..

1: RAV/RAV/RAV (Stagger Bots)
2: Rav/Commander/Medic (Hit things till they explode, and if they hit me back)
3: COM/COM/COM (For 'cba with magic' moments)
4: Sent/Sent/Medic (For 'shit, that hurt' moments)
5: Sent/Sent/Synergist (For lols on hard bosses)
6: COM/COM/MEDIC (To even it out)

A combo of 1 +2 will win most things. Very very rarely have to switch to 4 (Did early on in the game) and I've only started to use 5 at the start of 'big bosses' for the boost. Else it's back to 1 + 2.

EDIT: Had to use google for a part of the game I just passed, is stupid. About 2-3 'levels' away from the end, going to try and hit 2xL99 before I get there. Will go through some parts again for the
alternate endings
when I'm done though.

I have final fantasy 7 and 9 on the go, on my phone atm, Xperia play so have the PS controls. I wish they would go back to that style of story telling, rather than the corridor, cut scene, corridor, cut scene, boss. style of play.

Urgh. The first part was horrendous... my first Final Fantasy game and my last. Had heard so much about the series too, but if the first part was anything to go by... Bleh.

The series has gone down hill recently Turamber, if you want a good final fantasy experience try one of the earlier versions (everyone has their own favourite but I would recommend Final Fantasy X as it has a great story, combat and it doesn't compromise on the graphics like some earlier versions).
