right, check out this vid guys

YouTube - FIFA 08 Amazing Skill Moves on NG PS3
[youtubevid]afFrwkNHKIs[/youtubevid]

This is what I've always wanted for a PES game. Just some silly tricks to show off. I hope Konami will copy EA's tricksystem.

Ok so it will be easy to pull off and every kid and his dad will be doing the tricks in the game ^^

I dld the demo and i thought it was horrible the players seemed slow and sluggish.

Each to their own thou :)

no, they're actually very hard to pull off. But you should have known, since you've played the demo :p

it's far too easy to score in PES 08 :( my first half ended 3-1. That's 4 goals in one half.

The gameplay itself is freaking awesome though wonk. And remember, you can always crank the difficulty up :) Player animations are spot on and it just feels right.

it's an early build we're playing though. It's the same demo as the one from Leipzig (sp?)

I talked to someone who played an up-to-date version yesterday. He said it was way better than the demo we've got. I hope he's right, as I found it dull.

On another note, I didn't find PES6 good either when I bought it. I ended up playing it the whole year though. The same with pes5, pes4 etc. It's a game that really grows on you after a few weeks ;)

Yeah, I agree with that. PES games can be frustrating at first, the gameplay tweaks between versions mean you have to learn all over again.

I agree it's too easy to score in the demo, but the goals you can create are stunning. The only really big let down with the demo is that it is single player only.

As i said before you silly dane every PES that comes out people hate it at first a few days later of good play and they love it.

As Ch3t said each PES feels different with the tweeks they do and so it doesn't feel like PES6 at all.

So rented Fifa today thought what the heck can't be too bad can it?

WRONG.

Shooting is awful its just bad really really bad it just feels like you have no control where your shots go.

The players seem slow and sluggish.

All players seem the same IE Henry gets outran by a 35 yr old Rivaldo.

When you pass the ball is almost feels like the computer has decided before you pass if you will get the ball or the defender will intercept and this can get really annoying.

When you have put a through ball to a player there is no way to take complete control of that player the player is on rails before the ball gets to him after that you can control.

On Pro Evo they have something called the super cancel where by when you pass a ball to another player you can either let the computer go on the run which it has already made OR you can super cancel and take complete contro l over the player and really confuse ur opponents.

The graphics are what you would expect from Fifa although i am confused as to why the player kits have a perma SHINE on them.

The only plus i can give is the commentary which is SUPERB.

4/10

Pro evo yet again has nothing to worry about this year.

fifa 07 last year impressed me, so i went ahead and pre-ordered 08 for release day this year. very happy with it, can certainly understand peoples gripes with how it feels compared to pro evo though. i think it's all simply a matter of taste, but i really do think fifa has come a long way and 08 is a really good, accurate simulation of real life football.

the pro evo 08 demo is also fantastic, as someone already said - it just feels... right. i'm an absolute pro evo nut but it's nice to have a game with stunning graphics and all the liscenced teams to fill in the moments i'm not playing prevo. ha.

anyway, should be a good year for football games!

i might upload some of my prevo 6 goals later if i remember to do it.

ofc pes is realistic .. NOT !!

PES is more arcade game giving you always a fast flowing game which football isnt always and over emphasis on tricks and spectaculars for goals.

How many over head goals do you see each week in the premiership ?

Excuse me? Over emphisis on tricks and fast flowing football? You just described fifa. I think you have your games confused. Pro is about using your team and passing to create goals. Only a very experienced player against a novice can use tricks and dribbling to score easy goals.

At the risk of sounding very snobbish, soze's post says it all for fifa gamers and what they want from the game.

I never said fifa ws realistic i was saying that pes wasnt as realistic as aada seems to make out all the time

After that its all individual taste but to say PES is realistic is wrong

Go online and see how many overhead kicks are done in PES do you know how HARD it is to pull off a goal like that?

It requires skill, timing and MOST importantly it requires your player to be in the 100% right position.

PES is as fast as you want it to be or as slow as you want it to be.

Spectacular goals in PES come because anything can happen in PES not like a scripted Fifa game where its famed because once you find the angle you can score over and over hence the stupid 10-9 online wins.

Fifa08 is a poor game i tried it yesterday and i tried it today and its just shit plain and simple the players are all the same except looks and the game just plays crap its slow and sluggish.

People can say all they want about how PES doesn't have the graphics or the licences but one thing that you can never take away from PES is that it plays 200x better then Fifa ever will.

For everyone who thinks Fifa is the best, just look at the results of this poll for an example. PES is far better in every game they have made

I cba to defend my opinion anymore. The PES players are the most biased people ever. I've been here since ISS 2, but I honestly enjoy Fifa more this year. End of story.

Lol, its abit harsh to say that the PES players are "the most biased people ever". loads of my friends are fifa fans, and they go on exactly the same as the PES people do.

Have you ever played FIFA online though? If you don't pass and use your whole team you will get torn to shreds. You can usually only take it around 1 or 2 players before you get tackled. I played the PES demo and I thought it was shit to be honest, but I thought the same about FIFA when I first bought it the other day, but I love it now - so maybe if I had given PES a chance I would have liked that too.

Just saying though, FIFA is notoriously easy on single player, but it is excellent on multiplayer and the scorelines range from 0-0 draws to high scoring matches such as when I beat Valencia 5-3 with Newcastle earlier, keep in mind that these matches are rare and it is much harder to score in this edition of FIFA. Many of the games turn out to only have a few goals scored in them if you and your opponent can defend properly.
