...your 5D MK2 nearly suffered an untimely death! What happened?!
First day out in very high winds. Got distracted and the whole set up fell onto the rocks albeit from a very low height. Camera was ok but my 10 stop ND was smashed and buckled on a 17-40 lens. I used a knife to take out the filter glass and fortunately the front element of the lens wasn't scratched. I then used the knife to tease the remains of the brass filter from the lens thread and again fortunately the thread wasn't stripped. A little later whilst cleaning spray off a Lee grad, the wind whipped it from me and it scuffed on the rocks. These scuffs can't be polished out. 140 quid worth of filters :/

Bloody hell, doesn't sound good :(. Glad the camera is ok, I've nearly been caught out when taking my eye off my kit - Lee filters catch the wind well, I've had one blown out my hand too, you try so hard not to finger print it that you don't grip it then *whoosh* it's off!

For some reason unknown to man, my B+W 10 stop is literally welded onto my 77mm Lee adaptor ring (screwed the adaptor ring into the 10 stop to use a 0.9 ND soft along with it) - there was no vice / heating thingy / oil / grippy rubber unscrew thing in the land that could free it. No idea what happened to it.

Think alloy wheels on a steel hub G. Put it on a radiator, it'll soon free up.

I liked Milou's pic because it reminded me of the Blair Witch Project. Jup's pic a close second. Sorry G, yours wasn't scary enough :(

It might squeak, but that'll be ok.

and it may pay to put a small amount of bike/workplace anti-bind (or anti-seize, or whatever they call it - Shimano calls it Montage Paste) on the threads when screwing ferrous/non-ferrous metals together.

if I tally correctly, voting is still tied between Tom and Milou. You guys have until 20:00 to get it together or I will choose!
