Right well the rules aren't clear on panoramas, and a panorama is the only way (without an extremely wide lens) to photograph this bridge near me. This is composed of 3 images:

This bridge is the original crossing over the Roch River, outside Bury. It carried packhorse traffic between Manchester and Bury. I know not its age but it has been there since at least 1850. It was replaced by a newer structure about 100 years ago, and has been allowed to decay to this state. It's almost inaccessible, but I managed to find a way down to it to take a pic. I also have a HDR version but I suspect it will not be acceptable in this compo, given the rules?

I shall do a post for discussion, Tom, as I read merging of more than one photo to mean something other than a pano.

Taken in the lake district. A dying tree infront of one of the lakes surrounding by life.

I think old red phone boxes are great, a rare sight these days; typically British. There is one not far from me that's been left to rust and rot, plus the local chavs have vandalised every last inch of it. Even then, it's been left standing in it's broken state to take further punishment.

It's sad.

Thats a nice pic that. I'd be tempted to return to the location and reframe so the red bars aren't cropped. There was a time not so long ago when 90% of all phone boxes in the UK weren't working.

I know what you mean Tom, but I've got about 20 pictures of various angles, it needs to be closer in and almost entirely "framed" because there's too much distraction around the phone box (houses, trees, cars, busy street) that totally detract from picture.

Try bringing the camera back 6 inches, lifting it up about 3-4 inches, and taking it again. Well that's what I'd do, if I weren't teaching grandmothers how to suck eggs :(

Aye thanks for the suggestions Tom, but this is a competition, not a "take a picture then critique and discuss" thread :).

This is what councils let happen to nice buildings. Particularly Bury councils. Most especially when it's a former municipal council town hall. They have a sound track record of doing it. :(

Unsure how long this has been here, but there was a lot of Roman activity in the area so the area is full of history. This looks like it has just been abandoned and left to the elements and the cattle that graze round about it. I wondered who or what lived in it?
