I know it's not Summer here, it's coming to the end of Autumn. The temperature is a chilly 19.5C(67F).
I bet you guys would kill for this sort of weather in November.

#2 Roaming in the Gloaming

Summer in Scotland (when it's not raining) means looooong nights, still lochs, awesome landscapes, peace & quiet and being eaten alive by midges.

You can tell when summer arrives in Skirtland; it rains just as much but everything turns a rich green from a scabby brown. I'm on hols just now, so jumped in the car and took a drive up the highlands. The rain came and went, but it brightened up eventually.

I didn't get much of a chance to take any decent snaps, but I did manage to get this:

Unfortunately the days that I did have spare, tended to be rather shit for weather.

Another one, same beach. Both images are filtered. I applied some curve changes, then reduced the hue, then a bit of unsharp mask on the brightness channel, and then a photo filter (all in photoshop). I think the unsharp mask has created a slight HDR-effect on the bicycles image, I probably set it too high for that.

Even though there are better pics, I am going for tierk number 3, and Tom's bikes as a second choice vote in case of a tie ;p Both fit the theme perfectly.

Tom's bikes for me. Pity about it being a cloudy day, but the rest of the image, of bikes just abandoned with the thought of kids rushing off to the beach, seems to match the theme the closest to me.
