Welcome to the Photocomp number 17 judgement thread! Comp #16's topic was Architecture.

Please declare your vote in a clear manner, eg, <user> - <pic number> (seriously)

If there is a need for discussion of any kind other than photo-technical, please use a different thread for that.

Voting may continue until Thursday 21:00 CET, or until a clear majority has been reached. In the event of a tie, I will judge.

Clouds reflected in the façade of the National Media Museum in Bradford last month after a meet with Jon and Gary to see the Don McCullin exhibition and for a bit of a natter.

1 - Shade

2 - Faceless Eyes - I love the way this (now ex) building reminds me of 80s/90s gaming.

Some pictures I took in Hong Kong last week I think fit this competition:
#1 I like this for a mix of old (St John's Cathedral) and new (Cheung Kong Centre, Bank of China Tower and Citibank tower), I'm just annoyed I missed the top of Citibank Tower, only just noticed that now :(

#2 The Lippo Centre (centre), with Bank of China Tower on the left, and Citibank tower on the right:

I just wish I'd had a tripod with me, my pictures of The Symphony of Lights would've come out so much better :(

#3 Architectural Eye.

Looking up the spiral stairwell to the dome of the Mitchell Library in Glasgow. It felt like an angry eye staring down on me.

I haven't had much chance with the weather and work to get many images for this, so here's one that's a few months old.

Ok i finally got my butt out on the road to go and retake some snaps that i took before and also to take some new pictures.

So here we go.

I ran out of batteries after the retakes of the Star Wars building tonight but i got a whole heap of awesome pictures tonight.

Thanks for all your patience and i hope it has been worth the wait.

The middle picture is taken at the venue of the Tribeca Film Festival. The second is the view of the Business District at night - great buildings - and the first is off course my favourite building currently in Qatar - Star Wars - Al Hitmee Building.

I'm going for Big G's Architectural Eye as I like the suggestion of the eye and that it's the only one taken indoors, which I like. A close second would be Tris's drystone wall as I like 'em. I think Jinglebell's science block would make an awesome abstract and Tom's Manchester wheel is a great reflection shot with the added bonus of the wheel being cut off at the top which implies that somehow it's contained within the glass building.

milou's Duomo reflection.

Another vote for that one from me, it's very cleverly done and pips the other building shots by having that extra something.

Great shots by all though.
