Please declare your vote in a clear manner, eg, <user> - <pic number> (seriously)

If there is a need for discussion of any kind other than photo-technical, please use a different thread for that.

Voting may continue until Friday 21:00 CET, or until a clear majority has been reached. In the event of a tie, I will judge.

For the past 12 months, I've been experimenting with mono/duotone shots and the square format. These are my favourite three so far:

Got a new rugged compact camera for the forthcoming honeymoon and tried out on a visit to my parent's last night....

#1 - Turnberry Lighthouse

I'm going to open with one of my own personal favourites. I have this on a 45" x 30" canvas in my kitchen. I like it because the sun was going down to my left behind a big rain cloud which painted the land in a muted blue light, it's made the picture more like an oil painting than a photograph.

Ok, they're smaller rocks, but they're still rocks!

This was one of my best, taken yarns ago on a D60.

In the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. The alcove was illuminated by a low sun through a stained glass window, and just as I was taking the picture a tourist walked behind me. It looks like a monk.

I have it framed and hung in my hallway. The print cost a tenner, the bloody framing was over £100!

I took this today. Its the Chew Reservoir in the Peak District, 1,600 feet above sea level. I walked up this road to get to it, a climb of around 1,000 feet over 2 miles. I actually had another shot in mind, but I wasn't sure how long it took to walk there so abandoned it for another day.

I had a hard time picking one, indeed I can't decide between Gaff's #1 or #2.

I'm going to say DaGaffer #2. Composition is great - it's like the rock face and the sky mirror each other in shape. The fantastic complimentary colours and the moon just finish off a really simple but effective shot.

Tom's Chew Reservoir one. I'd kind of promised myself that I wouldn't vote for any shot with smoothed out water in it (sorry guys but I think we've seen that effect a LOT in this competition over the last year ;)), but I really like this one and the way the tower intersects with the water.
