#2 - Summer sundown in Skirtland

Went for a walk with the missus tonight, took the camera on the off chance there was something nice. Got a great view to the northwest of sundown over Ben Lomond and the Trossachs. Bit annoyed in that I never took a tripod or my filters, so didn't make the best of this. You can see Stirling Castle just right of centre on top of the hill.

Still trying to find time to start a photoshop course so i can start fiddling with pictures in RAW format but in the mean time here is a couple of sunsets i caught in the last couple of weeks while fishing with the boys.

The first is on the East Coast at a place called Umm Baab.

Laviathane's Antigua picture. It's maybe not technically perfect, but it says "summer" the most to me, and I also really like the composition. I can almost taste wine that the two sunbathers are drinking .

Yes, Milou's picture is absolutely spot on, I really like that one. The colours a very nearly complementary and the inky blue really tells how nice a day it was. The only reason I didn't go for it was that it was a bit too abstract for me for the theme.

Cheers. I wanted to have the colours of a beach in summer in the shot - golden, white, blue - as a sort of visual pun.

I'm voting for Wazzerphuk's Facing West as it has a real summery feel - blue sky, fluffy clouds, and a certain stillness that you experience in a summer haze which is also captured by the stillness of the windmill.

I would like to pick as the next theme - landscape

I was going to pick something a bit more tricky, but I thought the nights are long and there is a heatwave (apparently) coming, so it would be a good and enjoyable opportunity to get out and photograph your favourite bits of land!

I found the opposite, the wind has been out the east for weeks where I am which blows the fog in; only had a few days of summer really.
