Rules

* The photo must be your own
* No text that isn't part of the original photo
* No merging of more than one photo, however panoramas are now allowed.
* Keep photos to a sensible size. It shouldn't be tiny, and viewers shouldn't have to scroll.
* Max of three entries. Multiple entries of the same shot from different angles etc not allowed. If you are unhappy with one of your entries, clearly point out which one and the mod will remove it. Keep this within reason please.
* Entries must be within the CoC (no cock, no flange)
* Allowed 'shopping : Rotating (finished image must be cropped to a rectangle), cropping, resizing, red-eye removal, lens correction (only to remove lens distortion, chromatic abberation and light falloff, etc.), non-selective image adjustments (changing levels throughout full image, blur, sharpen, noise reduction etc), gradient masks (linear only) for exposure correction

Ooooosht, this isn't going to be the easiest, dunno to go for arty or literal. Better get the thinking cap on and get out there. A macro lens would help.

My sister got married a few weeks ago and I volunteered to do the photos. Here is one from the set:

Unless I've totally misinterpreted the subject, I'll start the ball rolling with this...

Don't worry, it's not possible to misinterpret the subject, it is entirely up to you how you want to do it. I almost went with Close Up, but felt that the other way round allowed for wider interpretation anyway.

Nice pic by the way, and G's too: brave man doing a wedding though I'm sure you did it very well.

I haven't been arsed to frame this one.

From about a year ago, this is one of our rats, Spor, who sadly had to be put down this time last week due to a rather large tumour.

I may have to wait another week or two for the subjects I want to film to become available for this.

Unfortunately I have a 300mm lens but the bastard only works on my film SLR - the 20D won't accept it.

You can't plug an old canon-fit lens onto a new canon body?

Its a Sigma lens, but no a lot of the older AF lenses won't work on a Canon DSLR. I believe Nikon is much better for this.

I taped over the contacts and its ok, but the iris remains wide open which at 300mm is a pain.

#2 - Myself.

Shot in a mirror, flipped so the writing isn't back to front. ISO 1600 to give a film-like look akin to Neopan 1600.

Fucking cat.

This is why keeping a cat and sound equipment together isn't a good idea. The cat regularly catches mice, it must have caught one when the windshield was off the mic. The mouse then legged it into the windshield, got stuck, and died. I then put the shield back on the mic, and lent it to a friend for a job. I realised something wasn't right when I got it back, the shield reeked. This is what I found inside. The shield is split on purpose, that's where the Rycote clip holds the mic.
