For what its worth, I would have voted for Tom's pic as well.

Aye, despite the lack of technical ability in all of the photos, Tom's is by far and away the best entry. It captures the emotion well but is easily open to interpretation. A good bit of observational work, shame the conditions (light etc.) couldn't permit for a less noisy image. I'm not too keen on the framing though, it's a bit too close for my liking.

That can be anything, bedtime for your kids, scary monsters, stars, long exposure shots, anything that makes the viewer think of nightime.

While fat gay germans are incredibly amusing the pic didnt really fit in with the theme.

Tom's subject just looked half-asleep to me
