Dragging things back onto topic, what's wrong with paying to play online?
Surely this should be directed at you, unless you don't have 20 quid a month or whatever it'll be that Sony are asking for

Nothing wrong with paying to play online - I've paid for 3 months of DAoC which was only £17 mind. And we'll have to pay to play on BW eventually too, which I don't mind doing, because I play on BW all the time and abuse the forums a lot too.
That said I'll prolly get my subs paid for me as I'm a league runner, but I would pay if I had to, as I've absolutely no problems paying for something if it's worth it. Hence why (for example) I have been buying Photoshop since Version 5, because it's worth it to me as I use it all the time.
God I used to play on WP in its early days and had phone bills of £700 per quarter, so been there done that etc.

There is no problem with paying to play. Plus in america it would be only 10 us dollars. 1 pound is about 1.50 in us currancy. It's just that Sony wants all of it's online games to be free. and also would you like to spend money on the PS2 modem, then on the harddrive if anybody is planning on buying one. Then you will have to pay for the service which is about annother $10 on my side of the world. It all adds up to triple digets. And you better have a lot of birthday money to cover all of the expenses.
Also I think since sony is trying to stay with this policy it makes squaresoft kind of unloyal towards sony's terms. that's all. 10 dollars is easy to pull up it's just square's policy that kind of defeats the purpose not of having PS2 gamers pull up some money on a monthly basis in order to be entertained online. Imagine if this was for every online PS2 game. Now that would SUCK.

look, I don't know what the heck is the age limit for starting a job in your country, but in my land (america) we start at 14. Although I am getting a summer job fulltime. I can't get a part time job at the company I will be working at, during school because shift ends at 5:00 as to where I leave school at 5:00. I may be 13 but hey, rules can be bent.

What the hell is quid? look, I pay dollars. okay? Plus I make pretty good cash for a 13 year old. about 360+ a month. I know it cant pay rent or anything, but since I don't pay bills and what not, i really can cover myself pretty well. And plus my parents propably wont give a damn about paying 10 DOLLARS a month.

Okay PCG79 it's just that whenever I make my opinion people diss the crap out of me with sometimes absolutely inpertenant information. I understand this is a forum but whenever I have conflicting ideas people just diss the crap out of me as to where if others have conflicting Ideas I may diss someone if I get really fed up with them. wolfeeh, information can be impertinant if the replies aren't pertaining to the thread topic. or to topics that have been brought up that are not related to the thread topic. then there is no relationship which makes this thread generally useless because everybody cannot reply towards one annother with related information that is related to the thread which gives it generally no purpose of existing.

noooooo..... but it is about FFXI and not about my amazing "stupidity". thus, none of us are on the ball nor is any of this information pertinant. Although I think I am going to shift this topic over SOCOM: Navy SEALS. I want to talk about SOCOM more and more because it is coming soon. In my country it is arriving in two months. FFXI is all and well but it just gets boring talking about it. Or in my case whining about it. Is anyone preordering socom? and the network adapter. Hopefully, in july, I will setup a network with my dad and make preperations for the PS2.
