I've just bought a Netgear DG834G v2 wireless ADSL router/modem from Amazon but the fucker doesn't work.
It powers on ok, goes throught the check lights ok, detects that the PCs are connected on the LAN ports but it just will NOT sync with ADSL (the 'i' flashes amber for five secs, then goes off, rinse & repeat)
I've tried everything, (my old USB ADSL modem works fine - Pipex 1 Mb) including the following:
Tried a different cable between router and micro filter
Tried the supplied micro filter and my old ones
Tried unplugging every other device from phone sockets in the entire house,
Tried the router in the master socket with the phone removed,
Tried the router in the master socket with NO microfilter (and with one, as normal)
Tried the hard reset on the back of the device
Tried powering off and on
Tried sticking with the installation procedure only to be told there is no sync
It just won't sync - i'm tearing my fucking hair out, can anyone suggest what might be wrong?
It's worth noting a colleague at work has the same router on the same ISP at the same speed and his works no problem.
