FFS My car

Not last tuesday but the tuesday before, i came to college in my car then realised that i had no money to park it in the car park so i thought id park it up on the council estate next to my college, where most people park without any problems. And still it was only for 1hr and 30 mins why i had a lecture.

So i had the lecture and went back to my car only to find that some fucking shite had key scratched the whole 3 panals of the drivers side. Pissed off as i was i thought ok i will only cost me £50 or so to get it touched in so i took it to my local garage and they took a look and said that it was a deep scratch and the metal behind the door had been dented. (they couldnt of scratched it fucking nicely could they) They said they would send me a quote through the post.

The quote has just come through the post this morning and i opened it up and they have quoted me £792 excluding VAT and parts. The metal behind the door needs to be replaced as well as the whole thing needing to be resprayed. I AM SO FUCKED OFF. I havent got £7.92p let alone that.

I wouldnt be so hacked off if i had an accident but it was complete act of vandalism that took 5 seconds to do. Costing me about £200 a second.

FUCKERS

Bloody hell! Take it somewhere else, fella. £700 to repair a scratch? I don't care if the metal is supposedly dented, just get rid of the scratch, you theiving bastards!

You might want to say that.

cheers lads
my mums friend knows someone who illegally does paintwork and mechanical jobs in his garage. (the council are after him) Il go and see him and see what quote i get off him. I have in fact torn that quote up in anger and anyway there is no possible way i can pay that sort of money. Its the fact that all 3 panals need to be replaced and resprayed that is costing me, the parts are hard to get hold of being an 8 year old VW polo.
The work needs to be done too cos otherwise its bound to rust and il be left with a hole.

I remember when we took me old man's car to one like that, said £1000, probably.

Got a company called Dent Devils to come round, £100 and sorted. Dent Devils are a national franchise, they even come to your door and do it on the drive. Excellent service.

cheers mate il have to av a look a bit later at that.
I rang my imsrance comany but the premiums i would have to pay out first is more than the damage itself is gona cost. My insurance is fucked up mate. Every young male driver is a boy racer

But then premiums will go up as the families of the boy racers claim death benefits...

Perhaps you could shoot them so it looks like suicide?

Or better still, hang 'em so it looks like some kind of embarrasing auto-erotic asphixiation(sp)?

Do it yourself.

I doubt the metal is dented...

But if you have to get it done 'properly' try shopping around a bit first :)

why not take it to some of these colleges?

At my College they have Trainees work on all these sorts of problems everyday, its legal and free.

So why not check your local college?

You should do what I do, if I have a slight scratch I get some f*cking big council lorry to go into it and claim it on their insurance instead :) Of course there's the minor problem of the lorry driver admitting it was his fault in front of two public witnesses and a policeman, then denying it some months later just to delay your payment, but apart from that it only costs the excess £100 and I get two new doors and a front-side panel.

In fact my last accident was "my fault", I went into the back of a Landrover Discovery after I successfully proved that brakes don't quite work as advertised on oily wet roads. However, even though the fiendish design of the Discovery, with its "safety" bumper at the same height as my windscreen wipers, managed to gracefully take out the entire front of the car, it also removed the already damaged front bumper and trim which needed replacement anyway.

Total cost to me through premiums was around £170, total amount of bodywork re-done was well over £400, if someone accused me of deliberately aiming to do it I'd have a hard time defending mysel ;).
