Right, in light of the posts in my poll on how many we could possibly muster to do this very tricky artifact encounter, I'll be starting to do regular raids - it's hard to get enough friends/guildmates to show up to a 2fg required artifact encounter on your own, and it seems that this artifact is very sought after by people.

The raid will take place on monday the 21st, meeting in Volcanus. I will make a BG at 19:30 GMT (20:30 CET) and start inviting people. At 20:00 GMT we head out.

I encourage you all to at least take a look at http://www.visionofsages.net/toa/artifacts/song.html so you know what's going to happen. This encounter is timed once we start it, so we need to move relatively fast without people getting lost or pulling stuff we don't have to.

This first raid will be FFA. Here's why:
  1. I need to get to know this encounter before thinking out a plan on how it can be done optimally (hopefully with less people).
  2. By making it FFA you can all bring the chars you need the artifact for and get credit, then you're able to provide whatever class we need more, assuming you have an alt. (Example: you get credit for your cabalist, and can then bring your FoP cleric to future raids.)

Please keep in mind that we will need some key classes present, such as paladins and FoP clerics, so if you're a cabalist (like myself), try bringing some friends, otherwise this is going to be a very tough encounter. :)

Item distribution will be as follows:
Eriny's Charm will be lotto'd amongst those who need it.
Non-RoG drops from Samut will be lotto'd amongst those who need it in first round, after that lotto'd amongst all who can do whatever with them.
100% qua RoG drops will be lotto'd amongst those who need them in first round, after that lotto'd amongst all who can do whatever with them (sell, salvage).
RoG drops of 99% qua and below will be lotto'd amongst anyone who fancies salvaging and hinging them.
Scrolls will be lotto'd amongst those who need it in first round, after that lotto'd amongst all who are then free to sell them/give them away.

(This is my first actual raid, so if I screw up blame Derric!)

No, 20:00 GMT = 21:00 BST (Uk Time)
GMT = Greenwich Mean Time (Dublin, Edinburgh, Lissabon, London)
GMT+1 = CET = Central European Time (which includes Denmark)

Now, seeing as I live in Denmark, I know that we are 1 hour ahead of UK, and if GMT is one hour behind CET, then I take the logical step of assuming GMT is UK time. Therefore: 20:00 GMT is 20:00 UK time.

Can someone who has a clue about these things enlighten me before this raid gets screwed by people showing up hours too early and hours too late? :]

Hopefully this will clear things up, more likely confuse you even further:

GMT remains the same all year round, but in the UK we have British Summer Time. "Spring forward, Fall Back" - what this means is that in the spring the clocks go forward by 1hr (dont ask me why, something to do with giving farmers a lie in), so:
BST = GMT + 1hr

if CET = GMT + 1, then BST and CET are both the same, 1hr ahead of GMT.

So, 20:00 GMT is actually 21:00 BST, and is also 21:00 CET.

Good luck on your raid but wont be there myself, will be busy watching England whip Croatia :)

Raid is over, and it went pretty damn well, if I may say so.

Thanks to all the guys who showed up!

A little over 2fg were made, and the funny thing is that 99% of all were casters, so I was not particularly optimistic on whether we could do it as such. :]

We did two failed attempts, first one was a wipeout, and on the second one we didn't make it in time because apparently someone had aggroed one of the named ones, then proceeded to kite him halfway through the zone, eventually getting him stuck in lava next to the ML6.5 step. Sooo, we had to find him first, kill him, then start all over. After that it all went smooth.

Samut, the dreaded, about as tough as Golestandt some say, went down in less than 5 minutes, thanks to something like 4 theurgs' pet spam, 3-4 cabalist pets, two buffed salamanders and Seksual and Joline's FoPs, and a lot of nukes. I was in awe. :)

Luck would also have it that the raid arranger, yours truely, won the /random 100 roll. But never fear! I had fun on this raid, so I will definitely make more. Keep checking FH for the next dates of more raids to come!

And again, thanks to all who showed up. It was a blast.
