Thanks for all your suggestions. In the end I used a few of them and put together a concoction.

I am currently sitting here about to go out, wearing:

*Bin-bag (thanks Guildford Borough Council) top
*Bin-bag skirt
*Angel wings
*Yellow washing up gloves
*Custom-made silver foil crown
*Custom-made silver foil wand


I think I'm the kitchen fairy but I'm not sure. This should be quite interesting...pics to follow!
