Did you see that video where a reporter from some German game site interviewed that French GOA dude in English? He obviously hadn't rehearsed what he was going to say. It wasn't a pretty sight. :/

99% Warhammer and they just hand out a few DAoC leaflets to show they care.

I doubt if that is the question.

Lets see: At such events GOA tends to have Counterstrike Teams, in house / maybe sponsored too.

GOA.COM is the games / gamer brand for France Telecom, biggest phone company in France, with major ISPs in house and they should be present at events for this reason. (Good excuse to justify making CS more important than patches / prydwen crash)

Then they have the GOA.COM games portal for casual players

And Warhammer / DAOC is in addition to these.

So for that area Warhammer (and DAOC) has to compete with CS tournaments that can sell many DSL Lines in France, and we speak about France Telecom. Events (LAN parties, etc) compete with the usual "corporate" stall. Casual games portal, services for gamers, and MMORPGs compete with each other for that area...
