feelings of LA nerf after the patch

So, zerkers and SB's, what you think? I tested a bit and found the damage being reasonable. Nothing that good ol' frenzy wont fix.

Now that i tested more i realized the damage in LA styles is the same or less than in 1 h styles, and that sucks. I mean, what's the point in LA anyways now.

LA got evade styles and that positional: behind chain. positional: behind sucks in pvp cos Zerk gets attacked 1st almost everytime.
Evade chain is the only thing that is usable. Dmg is sucky, but frosty gaze has 6 sec stun.

It seems 2h axe is a good way to go. Havoc backupped by glacial movement with frenzy does alooot of damage. Before the patch i could even kill a BD, but now...... Zerker is just another class that has to run away. Only downside about 2h is the evade chain mentioned above.

Funny thing is, 2 x spec points per lvl, and nothing to use them on, wasted on LA :p

hmm.

gotta try that when i get respec. Now i'm still just believing the Axe-LA 50 and rest on parry spec. I mean im gonna test if there's any diff whether i spec on axe or not.

Alot has happened since i posted the thread. The fact is, Zerk gets attacked first in group. Every single time. Maybe cos the troll model is so big and easy to point with cursor. Secondly i dont have ip or purge or determination lvls yet. That's a bigger gimpfactor than any :p. Luckily I'm working on it. Thirdly. I need lvl 50. I feel like my zerk is on point where Yellowcons die easily and orange cons just run over. Armors are sucky, even though the weaps are not.

One on one I still get things to happen, believe it or not. It's just that i dont 3 strike tanks anymore. And I still solo orange con mob in lvl 46. Not all of course cos the variety of lvls, mobtype and damagetype differs. I have a plan for RA spec. And for the choice of weapons. I dont believe that there's only one way to go. I'll wait and see what fits. Only thing sure from my little experience on keep defences and attacks is: I need that guy with a shield beside me. Kobold plz.

The 1st and the 2nd shock is gone. It was hard to adjust cos when you grow a custom to very high damage and it's taken away you feel like you've been ripped off. Now it's like this:Zerker is brought "down" to match the other "light" tanks (don know why only "light", since evade III and parry makes a dualwielder a better tank than fe. a skald). Merc's and Bm's rule when highlvl. Everything i have seen and heard states so. Too bad haven't seen too many of those around in Camlann. On the other hand ppl who play them have something special and rare. That's never bad. When i read the forums and see how some classes are plainly classified as "gimped", makes me wanna see why. I actually rolled a thane. Not very highlvl yet, but i have had very good moments with it. Still waiting for that gimp switch turned on.

What ppl forget is maybe they're doing something wrong if they cant make their char to flourish.

Anyways, I accept my part as it is with this zerk. Like I said I've played the class since the beginning of Daoc. Not a cowboy, but usable for a group, kicking ass in right circumstances........
....and circumstances are dependant on me, right? ;)

hm i think u need 2 respecs to a not gimped spec:)

first if u want to respec than not to 2h slash dmg (50% of the players have slash resistent armors) , so u need crush.

second la is really gimp now, i can tank w/o probs as a cleric a zerker.

so u need 1 respec for la and a 2nd for axe:)

buuuut, if it's a known fact that everyone has slash resistant armor....... dont that make the blunt way very fashionable? And if so, ppl might just think, "hey i make a crush resist armor since everybody's speccing on blunt nowadays!".. Wave goes up and wave comes down. It's the same thing with heat and cold resists.
Everyone say: "Heat and cold have more resists than energy!" make energy proc. And then when i go and look at my randomly dropped duration 80+ mixed reinf (vulnerable for crush btw good on slash) and studded armors (vulnerable for slash etc.) bonuses, what do i get? Weak resists on heat and cold. Strong resists for spirit and energy. Of course when you craft and get to choose the bonuses it's different. But who really knows.

About the crush mainhand. I just spend a night lookin at boards that mostly contain whine about savage's superiority.
Came across this prevent flight RA being mentioned as a secret weapon of zerk class. It was said that the hammer specline has this plunderer snare style that would make a similar effect.

So, one for the hammer/la spec.

On the other hand, ppl that are playing zerks seem to use doublefrost, i have used it recently. Saw mentions of parry styles too. The behind styles zerk has are just plain stupid i think, i mean really, when's the last time anyone got the chance not having the PvP agro?

One thing catched my eye. No one seemed to pay attention to LA chain wich has hindered and attack speed decrease. The chain is very nice if completed and damage output is medium (1 st strike small dmg- 2 nd medium- 3 rd high).
Being realistic, on PvP situation with high delay weaps.... no way. But what about small delay weaps in each hand, huh. And to think of it.... this is pvp server, i can use hib blades in mainhand.
Low delay and decent dmg. I will never forget that crescent reaver drop. The best damn weapon i've ever had. So there's something worth testing.

Other thing ppl didnt mention is the stun style, frosty gaze. Fe. if i get two evades in a row, the subject is dead.
