Fedaykin guild in Thid

Well i've just logged from Thindranki in a crap mood after what started as a good night turned into a crap one because of one guild.

As usual Thid was devoid of healers save for 1 Shaman from Fedaykin by the name of Valygar. Well it seems that Fedaykin have there own version of realm co-operation, this involves one of their number shouting out 'charge' and getting back up for his rushes while his shaman mate sits there healing and buffing his guild mate ignoring every other call for help/rezzes. My guild mate also logged off dead equally pissed by the attitude.

And just to clarify i'm not talking about him trying to rez in dangerous areas, this was by the keep wall and he was actually stood by me most of the time, I tried sends and yells all ignored but his mate still wants help attacking.

Well I understand it's his money and his account to play as he wishes so good luck to him but as of now i'm telling my guild to avoid Fedaykin like the plague. I'll make a special point of it to our Shammie and Healer who have rezzed any and everyone in Thid for a number of days. Good luck guys cos if thats your idea of realm co-operation you'll be doing a number of long walks.

one "bad" member doesnt make a guild. I've had nothing but good experiences with Fedaykin so far.

you have obviously never heard of the saying:
"Care for the living before you weep for the dead"

And have you ever played as a healer or shammie? If no, I can tell you that healing + rezzing in constant combat is near impossible

you take your pick.... and as this shaman righly done, he chose to heal rather than rez people.... if he didnt heal, he would have to rez anyways... and I'd say group/guild survival before rezzing people lying dead. Also remember that a shaman does not get mana regen, so he's slower to regain power than a healer would

And if there's such a shortage of rezzers, why dont YOU start a healer/shammie, rather than blaming a poor guy/gal who's out to have fun with his guld/friends, and who doesn't want to play rez bot.... hell, buy a second account and have your own rez bot if it bothers you that much.

And who does this make Feydakin such a bad guild? from the actions of just 1 person you presume to judge a whole guild.... you must be some judge of character

Try reading what I wrote, we have 1 member calling on people to charge knowing damn well he will get heals/rezzes and then blatantly ignoring those who died helping him.

And yes I have played a healer in beta and live and I agree being a 'rez-cart' sucks but just how do you think we got all these relics? I thought it involved team work, if healers are only going to heal their guildmates well fine but lets all adopt the same ideals. Next time albs attack our relic we'll all restrict our healers to guild only heals and rezzes, we lose the relics for sure but hey thats ok to play it that way isn't it? The same applies in the BG's imo we all help each other out.

And back to the point, sure if you have no mana you cant rez, sure the living come first but when you are just stood there doing nothing popping the odd rez wont kill you will it. My character judgement is pretty fking good actually, when the ignorant twat wont even answer a send and his mate is still getting people killed that rates as pretty piss poor characters and imo reflects on the guild.

I don't

understand how you can blame a whole guild for one chars actions. And its all up to him to heal and rezz who ever he wants.

Hey if you die in BG's or RVR, and dont get rezz, release and jump back on your horse. Go make some coffee or take a piss, while riding back.

And all this crap about healers/shammys, stop it please. I have never seen a tank ride halfway over midgard to come and help.

Seen lots of healers/shammys do just that, and lots of them are barly within the 15 lvl range for a rezz. So if you continue flaming healer/shammys everytime you dont get a rezz, well you will never get rezzed. Its a privilage to get rezzed not a human right to get a rezz. And hey its only a game..

I think TBird is right.
If the twat was standing right next to him most of the time then that shammy just was a disgrace for the seer type. I play a shammy myself and i know from a rezz you have some mana downage. But to leave ppl dead next to you so that you can keep on chainkilling with yar guild is just not in the spirit of the game.

I'll be sure to void him. But there is another possibility offcourse. Maybe it was a healbot of 1 of the guildmembers. Just standing there and healing the ones in distress ( there are programs these day who do these things automatically, on US they use it all the time , don't know if its compatible with our version )

Well...

Then tanks should always protect the healers so they dont die, so they can keep on rezzing. But i have seen it alot of times when the healers are left alone while all tanks go chargning, leaving the healers alone against backstabbers.

Its all give and take....

If I may offer some words from the "enemy's" point of view concerning the shaman in question.

As an infil, I got the chance to watch a lot of what Midgard was doing, and I must say, that when I first saw this shaman, I trully believed he was a healbot. For he simply stood right at the keep gate, while we were fighting on the hib bridge, healing those that ran to him.

He was ID'd then as a shammy, and was earmarked for assassination. Later, we started targetted "Thindra" (sp?) a healer, and then started going for this shammy. When you all retreated to the central keep, he became a prime target.

Gruff was also a shammy - recall seeing him there (yellow cape?) and I saw him doing many rezz's outside our PK. Thindra was a right pain rezzing so many people. ;)

Although I didn't see the shammy in question rezz many people at our PK, I can't be a judge as I was too busy dodging skalds. First impression was just that, a heal/buff bot.

<shrugs> Nothing wrong with that. And honestly, there are never enough rezz's around in Thid. People go there to have fun, and you can't honestly say that playing a shammy/healer in Thid is fun. You don't get to kill stuff. We're (Albion) more fortunat as Clerics get smite and Friars are quite good fighters.

I saw at least two shammies and a healer on your side last night. I saw 1 cleric and 1 friar on ours.

Wouldn't this implicate that your vaunted sig is out of date, Barnny? :p

I dont think you can generalise like this, i am a healer my self
and you wont see me go out and say something like:

"Last night i grouped with a warrior from guild X, he couldnt
pull aggro away from me so i died. I did tell him to hit the mob, but he just kept on missing.
Therefore i will never group with anyone from that guild again, nor will i ever group with warriors again" :)

knowing a bunch of their founders from when they just started, I can safely say non of them would ever encourage such behaviour. therefor I must agree with Brannor that it's prolly a Buffbot.

/send their GM and ask for an explanation. don't swear a guilds name all over the forum and threaten to never group with the entire guild just over 1 incident.

if you always judge guilds by 1 bad apple you'll soon be leading a life of soloing. cause you couldn't even team with your own guild anymore...

Have you ever thought that perhaps he maybe new to the game?

How many people here didn't actually get to grips with everything straight away?

There are ways and means of doing things Tbird, you as an experienced player of this game will know that. Some people do take longer to get an understanding of the game than others. You played in the beta version so you have a much greater understanding of how things work.

Now as for not rezzing people.... hell I can remember going on my first RvR session did I get a rezz when I died? No. Did I get a rezz on my second RvR. No. It wasn't for a lack of healers of shammies, it was because I didn't know them and they didn't know me!

You want someone to help out? Be nice to them. Constant spamming is one way to get ignored by a rezzer in double quick time! Instead of posting a flame thread against a guild and a person why not actually get to know them first. If you want to post after that then fine. Don't judge until you have actually got to know him/them.

Valygar is actually a nice chap. He has only been playing for a couple of weeks and is still learning the ropes. I will have a nice chat with him about this to get his side of the story.

The whole point of the battlegrounds is to get some battle practice. You make mistakes and you learn from them. Jumping the gun and posting flame threads after one incident is a little hasty.

I know it can be frustrating when it happens but you know the old sayings.... Practice makes perfect, and, If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again!

/em gets off soap box

We've all had those evenings Tbird. I myself have bumped into some guilds that rezz their own and forget the rest, and THEY were experienced players ;)

Thank you Nicodemus for a reasoned response, in hindsight i'll agree my post was a little OTT and perhaps unfair but at the time I was laying there dead (and others were I may add) and the guy wouldn't even reply to my tells (2 only, not spammed), I think you can see why I was pissed.

I'll chalk this off as a bad day for both of us but i'd appreciate you talking to the guy and explaining that without the co-operation of realm mates none of us will be having much fun.

Oh so true but if healers wont give rezzes why should I give speed or damage add from my main. And when you're the skald on the wood run repairing relic doors you'll know exactly what give and take is, I give my money and time running back and forward across the frontier and I take..... zip.

I've since said the tone was extreme but the principle remains.

No probs Tbird :)

I agree that everyone needs to muck in to make it work. If you have an incident like this again pm me in game so I can help out as much as I can.

We all have bad days ;)

Remember..... have you hugged your rezzer today? They need hugs too! :p

hmmmm

I have to agree partly with what has been said before, but surely this shows a weakness in the game.

Healers get nothing for rezzing realm members in RvR all they get is another long rest while they get there power back.

And after a while it does get to you.

I play a lvl 35 shaman and have just started a healer. Often go to the frontier with my guild members levels 40-50 and find all i do is sit around after rezzing them, and rezzing a lvl 50 takes full power bar :( So i find myself going anon else you get constant tells from people, and spend all your time rezzing.

Just an idea but perhaps Healers and shaman and other realm rezzers should get RP's for rezzing people in the frontier, as this is contributing to the realm success, and may encourage more rezzers to be created, as in midgard there is a definate lack of them. As shown in Thidranki when there is seldom a healer or shaman but a hell of a lot of clerics :(

Dont think it was him, I know the first hit was a tickle of less than 10% :m00: ISTR it was a fire wizzie that toasted me, we did a bolt exchange but my bolts are very limited because of the Darkness spec. (dont read that as gimped though, in close(r) combat AE+debuff is amazing fun, I just cant believe how many times my target will just stand there 'blinded by the headlights' giving me a 350 radius to nuke in  )

I've got a 20 hunter and 20 shammy now. Both have been to Thridanki. And actually playing a shammy can be a very rewarding job.

When however you are the only rezzer on your side (without power regen buff to boot) supporting a group that has a couple of kamikaze players, you'll be spending a lot of time sitting on your arse resting, with about 5 corpses on the ground permanently :) This can be frustrating, especially if people are not watching over you when you are sitting duck, regaining power. I've had many a close call after getting a poison dagger in my back ;)

If we are near the keep and the albs are on the bridge I usually try to rezz those close to the bridge first. Since I can always get the once close to the keep from the battlements if we are driven back. Unless someone has been down long I get those first if I can. So gameplay basically consists of rezz, frigg, rest, repeat :)

Last night however keep defence was a total blast. I counted no less than 3 shammies and a healer on our side including me. That meant not all my power went into rezzes and I got to have some fun with my cave spec :E I'll admit it's not very powerful but poisoning and diseasing people seems to have a nice psychological effect. Even bolted a couple of people!

Gratz to the infis that got me twice while trying to cross the bridge to the keep with a small group. Especially the 2nd time I got owned by two who attacked me at the same time. Great teamwork there. I think we managed to clear most of the bridge after that and we just made a mad run for the gatekeeper!

I think Midgard in general (not just Thid) needs more people playing support. But many don't since it can be a thankless job. If you don't get to use anything but your mending spec it's a boring job too :) I hope that everyone that made a stealth class for the battlegrounds can find it in his heart to level up a support or other class as well!
