My all time favourite is that big old black iron thing you hang over the fire... though the first see-through kettle was awe inspiring by comparison.

My kettle has an electronic whistle that lets you know when your water has boiled. I live in a house with male flat mates, and all I can hear all day it the bloody thing whistling.

Isn't it being a bit of a pansy for a lad to drink tea all day long, like they do? Maybe I should buy them a handbag each.

What the hell has happened here?
Talking about kitchen utensils?
Call yourselves men? (apologies if you're women).
Ours has an electronic whistle too, it's sooooo fake sounding.
But our toaster! Now that's something to talk about. It has 4 slots, is chrome and two slots can be used independently of the other slots!!!!

My one is good.

Leave it on for too long and it trips the house fuse and the house power goes out.

Since when have motorbikes been called kettles?! :<

GT750 was , and is, called a kettle because it was watercooled, a very early watercooled bike, and used to steam and gurgle from time to time :)
Was a two-stroke 750 too, so was quite fast for its era .

The real maneater of the day was the Kawasaki 750 triple 2-stroke , and its 500 brother, called at the time "the fastest camel in the world" because of its appalling handling .
Happy days, and even happy as , just for once, they were a bit before my time ! Yay ! :)

Worth a link if only for the seventies woman :)
