A well tweaked Mitsubishi GTO could take anything in GT1, could get them in nice knightrider black too :)

Something I tried last night:-

Easy way to get money is the Euro Championship in Amateur Leagues. Save the game after the 4th race then quit the fifth and make sure you win the Vertigo, which u can then sell for 300,000. If you win one of the other shit cars then reload it and try again.

Now I just need a decent German Car :/

Best car is either the Mazda 787B or the Toyota GT1 Race car (depending on the circuit). Easily. Nothing else touches these two.

Best unmodified car is the Pagani Zonda S. You need that for the Polyphony Digital Cup (one of the last cups in the game). It probably would have been the Diablo GT, but that got taken out of the European game :/

Wij if you want a decent German car get an RUF Boxster and tune it. Gets up to about 650bhp, and drives pretty nice - much nicer than the CTR2. I've not tried the RGT, although I expect it's pretty sweet (as it's RWD, the problem with the CTR is that it's 4WD). The other option is to win the Mercedes cup in Amateur (you'll want a decent CLK55 for that), and you win the CLK Race car. Then win the German Touring Car cup with it, and get an Astra Touring Car. The Vertigo is nice, great fun to drive, although not quick enough later in the game (you'll probs move to the GT-1).

The Mitsubishi GTO in GT1 was for newbies, end of. GT3 is totally different anyway, the race spec cars are much more impressive than the road ones (unsurprisingly), and there's no "racing mod" any more, which is good.

SerialKilla your mate must be a fucking god at GT3 to get all Golds on S License :) Most I managed with the licenses was the odd gold here and there. It's much easier to get the cars in the normal cups tho (you get the Pikes Peak Escudo in Polyphony Digital Cup Pro, the Viper 2003 in GT All Stars Pro, and the new Impreza Rally Car in Superspecial Route 5 Reverse Rally).

I can't get that 8th gold in the damn B-license test, it's been bugging me for ages...

But anyway, my favourite car has to be my TVR Tuscan. Rear wheel drive, tricked-up to the max, and it drives like a dream :)

Won't win everything in it obviously, but it's my favourite car to drive. Plus the TVR paint jobs are l33t ;)

i find the best way is to get gold on all licences. With the dodge u can up it to 900bhp. Win loads of races with it.

Anyone seen the cars you get to race on the last ever race in the game yet?

I wont tell you cause I dont wanna spoil it for you.
Not that i am even close to it but I cant wait.

Sorry to re-open an old thread, but I just got hold of GT3 this week, only 35% through it. The Escudo isn't that great, needs a lot of setting adjustments imo. Definately like the Vertigo Race Car, thing is i'm still yet to get my IA/S licenses as i'm stuck on a particular cunt of a test (The final IA test) :(

I certainly know what the most fun car is :)

Dodge Viper. 1110bhp. SuperSoft Tyres. Tweaked to eliminate understeer while braking. Round Seattle, Trial Mountain, Midfield, Laguna Seca or Grand Valley, nothing comes close when it comes to enjoying yourself. And round the Test Circuit, nothing comes close to it. Period.

Fastest apart from F1/Pikes Peak? Like Stu said, the 787B is pretty much as fast as it gets. Except. Buy a Castrol TOM''s Supra. Put a Stage 4 turbo on it. Nearly as fast in a straight line as the 787B and seems much more grippy in the corners. What's more, its also more fun, due to the fact that it does EXACTLY what you want it to do. Oversteer on the way out? It can do. Stay neutral all the way through? It can do. Ask it to turn. It turns straight away.

As for Golds in licences? I really can't be arsed :)

Heh, I just got a Castrol toms Supra before reading that post, very similar handling wise to the vertigo only slightly more grippy, yet it's actually fast with stage four turbo :) The Vipers any good? Haven't bought/won one yet, kinda plagued by awful memories of them spinning almost constantly in GT1.

Still tricky to handle but they can be tuned to be reasonable. The Team Oreca one is quite sweet.

Heh. I don't own it meself but my sister and her blokey invited me and my bird round for dinner and wouldn't feed us till I'd helped them get some licenses they were having difficulty getting.
It was them circular tracks in the rain. It reminded me of playing tetris...pointless but addictive. :)

Only played it a few times at our clan "do" last weekend, but I did like the RUF RGT and the F1 cars. Very nice.

I can't go back to GT2 now, it's far too ugly. Someone give me £200.

Oh, and my 980bhp GTO from GT1 0wned everything. It'd do 415km/h, which was miraculous in that game :)

Shame they took GTOs out really.

My Viper gets up to 450km/h before it runs out of straight :)

I was shocked when the Escudo hit 400km/h, dropped a gear and kept going in GT3 :(

Which car is it that will do a wheelie, then accelerate to 900km/h or something stupid? There's a great bug in the physics engine.

didnt they rename it to the 3000GT? or was that a completely differant car which wasnt nearly as good?

Not sure about GT3 as I don't have it, but I think it was a slightly different car in GT2.

i think they did rename it tho because in the second one, you could get a 95' edition of it and would be called a 3000GT, conspiracy theories abound:)

To quote the car info box for the 3000GT..
"Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 Turbo: Known as the GTO in Japan and the 3000GT In the UK, this car came out in 1990 blah blah"
It's nowhere near as good as in GT1, with widely tuned gears it gets to just about 400km/h on the test course. Anyone got any ideas how the fuck you do IA-8? Always end up about 800ms out ffs :(
