She is lying through her teeth, with a gastric bypass they create a tiny pouch inside stomach which means you can only eat very very small amounts in one sitting, practically one egg will fill the new stomach pouch. They also bypass about a metre of intestine which causes mal-absorbtion so she will only ever process about 60% of the calories she eats, the rest gets shit out. Finally with the bypass if you eat lots of crap you get sugar dumping syndrome which really fucks you up for a couple of hours after every time you indulge.

I know all this because a good friend of mine had the bypass done last year and we have spoken for hours on end about how he is coping and the changes he has had to make.

The woman is a fucking liar and is trying to use publicity to get back the benefits she no longer deserves, I have little sympathy beyond the fact that I hope she loses all the weight because the bypass is a risky operation and I would hate to see all that taxpayers money spent on a failure. She needs to sort her shit out and stop making excuses.

Well i'll throw in the devils avocado here;

I can understand what she means by not being able to eat what she used to, but i think she's simply lacking the skills to change the diet.

It worked for her and people don't like(or can't) to change things that work. with what she ate and now she needs to move from that diet to regular food.

Someone needs to tell her to pick up walking(instead of gym), then what to eat instead of weightwatchers propaganda(don't get me started on that crap).

She was fat, easy prey and weight watchers snatched her right up. Now they got her thinking that she NEEDS the weight watchers crap to be healthy(ofcourse making weight watchers richer).

Some education would solve her problems, and i mean education from real trainers and NOT some organized money making scam.

All that being said;

She needs to realize that she's no longer disabled and start thinking about a job and a normal life that she wanted when starting to lose weight.

Look at British school foods for example(only example i know that is a problem). It's not like the schooling system advocates healthy eating.

The weight watchers a lovely system though, from moneymaking point of view, get people thinner by selling them more expensive brands of WW poo and make them believe that's the only way.

Ofcourse not and ultimately the responsibility for you is you, but it doesn't mean we can't point out flaws and try to change things so that other people don't end up in situations like this to begin with.

For example, if the government wouldn't give extra benefits to overweight people, but used the money to teach them how to eat properly, how to battle weight etc, they wouldn't have this problem and the people could move away from extra benefits more easily.

Saying that they just want the extra cash isn't fair either, as i believe many(if not all) overweight person would prefer to be thinner and live longer.

I've seen this woman! She comes into the Tesco I work in. Never seen her with anything other than expensive junk food. Name brand chocolate, crisps, Coke, etc.

She is a disgrace. I work part time, my right knee is shot to shit, hurts constantly, I get Migraines every day and yet somehow I manage. So being 22 stone isn't an excuse for not being in work. Get off your fat arse and get a job or have the decency to croak.

I'm sure they'd all prefer it, but they've got to put the effort in. There are a few examples on this forum of people who have done that i believe.

We all receive the same education/food at schools so they shouldn't be blamed. Parental influence is a different matter however.

Aye, there needs to be effort, but imagine if you were overweight and there were two choices;

- Government gives you 600 more/month.
- Government helps you lose that weight.

Which would you take? If we take this choice away and the government actually CARED about fixing the problem, it would work better for the person and for the government, as they would get the costs back in NHS costs etc. Now the cahs spent is cash lost, pure and simple.

Not putting blame fully on the schoolfood system, put it's part of the problem like home education.

If the home education is ok, but school is not = chances are that you won't end up like this.
If the home education is poor, but school education is ok = similar increase in chances.

I doubt she needs extra help to be educated on healthy eating. Everyone knows that eating shite makes you fat. If that woman had the best personal trainer and nutritionist in the world I bet she wouldn't lose a pound, she is inherently a fat, lazy waste of space. She had a gastric bypass as it was the easy option for her. Stuff like this drives me insane, fat people are fat because they eat too much and are too apathetic to do something about it.
