I made that mistake too a while ago, gave the thing away in the end - all it was good for was as a rather expensive doorstop...

yeah I got stung pretty hard mate *shows how much of a fool he is* £1200 for p3 (700mhz),128 ram,5mb vid card,a sound card out of a spectrum dvd/cdrw all with 17in mon.

Notice the 5mb card with the dvd,lol I've been told the lowest you can have for dvd is 16mb.I was told before i brought it that it was the top of thier range...................lol yeah right :rolleyes:

my brother bought their top machine just over a year ago
its now outside gathering rain water within 2 weeks,
it had to have a new motherboard,cpu,graphics card.
there was a delay in them shipping they said it had to be made
we later found out some parts on the machine were over 2 years old,
thank goodness he's learned to build computers now
and build this and his new machine,its a hell of a lot cheaper,

Yeah they did and Time isn't much better. My "bitch" came from PC World, a HP, and has been a right pain in the arse but atm it's ok again after 3 weeks to sort it out. Hopefully it will still go on ok........:(

lol I'm not sure mate,I think it just runs on it's own without taking RAM,then again I maybe wrong.
One thing I do know for sure is the damn thing makes geothermal suck big time,my FPS on the goes from 9 to a max of 14 lol.

i always used to get like 8-13fps at max :( but... then i got a nice upgrade from 500mhz to 700mhz (sabotage by me) i have a 3 yr cover thing... and i had an 8mb card... so i even didnt have an AGP !!!!! :eek: so i then bought a PCI gfx card and on that machine now i get capped 54 fps most of the time on EF, unless the servers full on maps like voy2, thats when i get about 40 or so, but its playable at least...

i also got a new machine that kicks ass, but thats enuff of that :)

Playing EF on full graphics is fine for me but even on Normal graphics in JK2 my FPS sometimes goes below 5. :(

It looks like these days that if you're having trouble running EF with a decent FPS then you'll probably have to upgrade. :mad:

TBH I have to snigger as we all like to brag don't we m8?

It's a bit like some guys and their cars.....always trying to squeeze those extra few bhp or mph out of their motors!!

Ihave been considering an upgrade to mine.....maybe new mobo and geforce 3 ti200/500.

That should give me a slightly less measly score. Mind you, it doesn't much seem to affect my sniping abilities...hehehe!!

I got an Athlon 700 with 128 Ram, 30gig Disc, 32mb All-in-Wonder TV/Graphics card + printer & scanner for £1200 from PC World 2 years ago!!!

my system has the following (looks at embattle)

2000athlon xp, 512mb ddr ram, gf4 mx 440 :/, microstar (shit) mobo....

and first time i did it i got 5200 ? then 5900 ??? and then 6900 ? w00t, but... for some of them it said hardware not available? so that brought my score down cos on a few it did not do them and skiped then went to next one?

is this cos of my SHITEEEEEEEEE gcard? well its good ok, but not as good as HIS :(

will this be cos of my mobo and gcard that my score was this LOW ?!?!

Speaking of GFX cards i got my GF3 Ti 200 128MB :D

I can now trench jump without looking like a prick :)

Bloody great i can play high settings with everything.
But i havent checked its max fps yet. :(

Whats the best framerate in EF?

anything higher that does what 76fps can do? like 200fps or more maybe :D

depending on other parts of ure system stevo m8...u should get a good fps anyway!

if i put setting to max... then go into an empty server or whateva, fps uncapped i get around 300 m8, so u should get something like it... i cud cap it to 200 but then i cant rocket or trench jump right :/

yeh it rox trench jumping without looking down doesnt it :)

i have an 850 duron with 256MB ram.....

128MB gfx card will last a long time :)

and i may also be getting a 19" monitor.... Yes thats right you were owned on a 15" monitor :p

the Ti200 cost 100 quid.

And for some strange reason on voy2 on high settings i get 40 fps if i look at the whole map at once. I get 40 also with low settings.

On KLN2 i get 200fps easily had it capped at 200 there tho.

Anyone any advice on how to increase my fps on open maps?

(may be my shitty 850 durex)

The card isnt shit just my cpu is and mobo is as old as the cpu.


HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

stevo u get 40 fps when looking at whole map on voy2 when a server is full or when NOT ?!?!?!

feck knows whats going on, one way that can help ure fps is to turn simple items ON m8... should give u about 10-20 extra
