the only class that can do that are BD's and Cabba's... was he a cabalist? if not then he CANT damage you. god knows ive sat in that exploit a few times when i was bored at 4am.. u cant target anything.. and how hard is a pet to kill when no BD lifetapping you...? even necros cant cast.. because you dont have LOS to your target... its not really an exploit more of a means of doing nothing and watching people go by..

I do broadly agree with you, however it is still an exploit as it presents an additional means to conceal yourself against enemy. Unless someone is prepared to check inside the bridge, you have the ability take someone by surprise. It effectively gives stealthers even more stealth, as it were, and also provides an effective layer of camoflage to non-stealth classes.

Imagine if you and your mates got jumped by a fg of albs hiding inside the bridge. That woulnd't be funny really. They could be on to of you before you knew it.

Erm, what have I said about your play style exactly. Looking back over the thread, I can't see where I have commented on your play style. What on earth are you talking about? Why would I do that, when in the earlier stages of this thread we seemed to be broadly in agreement on the subject of "necros being constantly banned for using an exploit."

As I said, I can't see where I have made stupid comments about your play style. Indeed, I can't see where I have made stupid comments about anyones play style. The very reason I haven't make such comments is for the very reasons you have said, I have no information on why/when you play.

So we return to you hurling around insults for no readily explainable reason. I will happily recant and apologise if you are able to cite examples with where I provoked you to such behaviour.

Noaim made a comment about the hard way of levelling a necro was using a staff. Formash made a comment about levelling a necro using a rejuv cleric.

Before I continue, apology accepted. I would genuinely be mortified if I had offended you for not good reason, it take that kind of thing way too seriously.

I really don't think Formash (who I know well) and Noaim (who I don't know from adam) really intended to offend anyone. They were just having a laugh at the comment of levelling a necro the hard way, largely because most people (grouped or solo) go Deathsight spec for levelling because it is so effective. It wasn't a jibe to imply that your playing you necro group only was somehow stupid.

I don't agree that levelling a necro in a group is any harder than solo, however that isn't taking into account getting a group and stuff. If you don't have a regular group of friends to group a necro with, getting groups can be a pain. But when you do, they are a heck of a lot more fun than soloing and the xp does flow in quicker in a good group. You know all this already though.

I think one thing that hasn't been touched on is someone trying to level a painworking or deathservant necro solo. I have tried neither of these myself, but I am lead to understand that the other two lines are a good deal less potent for PvE than Deathsight. That would definitely be levelling a necro the hard way in my book and you would certainly be reliant on a group then, rather than as an option for Deathsight, to level in a way that was both fun and effective.

If somebody made a joke about levelling a necro the hard way and you replied "I'm specc'd Painworking" I'd say that the debate was over and apologies were in order.

FYI. have not played BG for 6 months but when I did it was mainly mid hunters and sbs that used that exploit. It's a lame thing for any realm/class to use. Why blame an entire realm for one idiots stupidity?

Why has this turned into a whine fest as per usual, i can't remember ever challenging anyone about their play style. i'm just making comments with my thoughts about people playing in bridges / or playing a necro with a rejuv cleric.

People take comments on this forum far too seriously. Most look at it as ppl trying to be malicious, others have their tongue in their cheek.

I'm always the latter.

Tell you what folks, i think the people we should really be moaning to is Mythic. They should have fixed the bug ages ago, and then none of this would be being discussed at all.

Maybe the first thing to do when you (now before anyone gets upset or misunderstands, the "you" to which i refer is anyone that comes across an abuser) get "bugged" in any way, is rather than report the abusers or come to freddys to have a rant, a polite bug report should be sent via GOA/Rightnow. I fuly understand that many people feel this is a waste of time, but i'm sure that 500+ bug reports coming in on a specific exploit will do far more than a single "xxx is a cheating scumbag".

Now i guess this is not worth persuing what with NF looming, but all the same if more people send exploit/bug reports, more exploits/bugs would get fixed.

Just a thought.

Necro bug has been fixed - bridge bug has not - as I found out on my NS - hard to exploit as a stealther and a bit of jumping around gets you out - if you want out
