1988 gassing, what I referred in my previous post, was that chemical weapons and kurd killing.
ok, but we were talking about 'was saddam really all that bad', you're now talking about gassing, chemical weapons and genocide, does that not answer your question?
How do you think UK got that oil? Iran just handed it over? Nah, you probably marked the right word![]()
Or - shock horror - they bought it?
Well considering those assets were bought for a tiny, tiny, tiny fraction of their true worth from a previous corrupt regime over a hundred years ago because the Persians had no idea what oil was worth....
If the arabs want to sell thier oil its up to them, but when they suddenly realise that they have all the business acumen of a cow infected with BSE they suddenly turn around and say "actually we'll have that back thanks!", but ofcourse because they're the poor victimised token arab dictatorship/whatever, its obviously got to be us - the big evil empire of western democracy - in the wrong!
How come when they make a mistake a hundred years plus ago, its because they "didnt know any better, its not thier fault because it was their ancestors who fucked up", where as with the british empire, slavery and colonialism, it doenst matter that it happened over a hundred years ago, its our mistake, we have to pay for it.
I just get annoyed with all this. I honestly dont know whats right or whats wrong, things are very messed up and complicated and there is no black and white answer, so I'm going back to my default setting - my family first, my country second, every tosser else a VERY distant third.
