Basically sky win either way, and it is much better for us as consumers.

Ruling is in, pending a sky appeal. But for all sky's talk of appeal I doubt they would, they have the ability to sell via freeview now. Massive market just opened up for them.

Sky might try and stall in appeal till the start of next season tie people to deals then just go along with it. But i do see this potentially meaning a drop in TV money.

Not at all soze, basically ofcom have not even reduced the package wholesale prices by what they were planning to. It's only 23% for single channels, it's nearer 10% for the bundle. Sky get a much wider market as BT vision, other small tv providers, topuptv, Virgin all get to lower the price to their customers - and offer it for the first time in some cases. Sky will rake it in, they will jsut have to be more competitive with their own pricing to entice people not to jump to freesat / freeview and BT.

Also note that this is only for SD content, they still have exclusivity over their HD sports channels. And a LOT of people will want HD sport, not to mention the 3d sport coming later this year.
