Ok guys think i cracked it... this is the first temp i posted here and i want to get a good load of feed back from all u heroes and temp gods out there :)

Not a hero 'god' or anything but i few thoughts;

Sorc mez is energy based - You're gonna be mezd a while with 5% energy.

Cap quick - You're gonna be swinging once a fortnight with that much.

Increase matter - Warlocks are gonna have even more fun chambering with 10% resist :p

in my experiance, and after speaking to a few peeps, energy resists are a complete waste of time. Also on a number of other chars i have capped matter and is till get wtf pwned by warlocks.

true.. If the WL plays good you cant even stay alive more than 2 secs as a tank, even if you burn IP2 in right time.. Trust me, i tried to kill Arumi and i died in 2 secs, even when i burned IP2. got 18%Matter.

Why make a hero s/s as a Bg bot? 0 grp util wasted role and did i say useless?

VWer champ warden all make better Bgers as they proved something else to the grp besides the pure BGing part

as a s/s ur dmg isnt good compared to 2h users. if u plan to solo it might come in handy. but it takes a while to kill the target.


imo 2h > s/s in rvr and in pve the other way around

Slash too low Imo...need to cap with slash vuln armor. The golm is crap for a s/s tank aswell Imo, since the UV is low and the 2%dmg/style wont do diddly for you.

Melee spd % is > both dmg/style for a BG'r aswell Imo..so cap that. As mentioned earlier, make sure u got close to 250qui buffed(shouldnt be hard as luwi)

I know from loads of template-making experience that missing low resist % are very hard to work into SC parts, but I really feel that resists are very important to cap as a BG'r(cept capping matter/energy - would still try for 20+ matter, since it WILL help you survive chamber-dumps in fg v fg fights and also a lot vs UC'in WLs).

Having said all that I know its mostly a case of "cap whats essential".

Hope it doesnt all sound like dribble ;)

if the role of the character is purely a meat shield then you could drop strength, and maybe even piercing skill, and just cap all your defence and survivability attributes.

Energy resists are a waste of time especially on a hero who should spec at least det 4 as his or her first ra.

S/s hero is obselete. A 2h hero is also a better bodyguarder than s/s hero. As a 2h hero you can have 42 or 50 shield, 50 2h, cap your dex in s/s mode, land slam then rip through 3 or maybe 4 2h styles before stun wears off. Also more often than not you can follow train, land anhil (if lw) on one, bg their target and attack them. If more than one, whip out shield, engage dont slam if you cant kill them. If just 2, slam one, swap back to 1h and with 39+ parry you'll parry more against the other whilst the one you slammed is stunned. If one purges, rotate back to engage. Be aware of charge tanks on incoming as stuns won't work of course. You'll know if they charge with their speed. Fat trolls dont like 2h slash. If they dont have artis or bof up, hits of 900 are possible with decent crits. With 2h benefitting more from toa haste than 1h, dps from 2h is significantly higher. 250qui and 10% toa haste plus druid haste = around 2.1 secs from memory per swing using 2hmalice.

The only downsides are having to generally use crafted shield and 1h weapon to load dex into 1h mode to help with blocking and wasting points on mastery of blocking. If you can squeeze gov in you generally get about 37 base dex without anything else in hybrid template. In that regard with 28 dex on pc shield and battler having 15 dex from memory, you can get 80 dex and keep battler without using pc 1h.

1.82 warden with shield is best Hib bg as overall util better, 2h hero can go on train and use the 1.81 enhancements in a forward role keeping melee train up longer vs extend with sb3/wargaurd and new stuff.

Imo of course, s/s hero died after they changed the grapple immunity patch, possibly before toa. I suppose you could in 1.81 run multiple hero groups for metalguard and grppurge and other fluff but with 1.82 being released here the same time, warden anchors his spot even more.

As for template no winged helm,no malice, no som no battler = prolly very nice template but without essential items. If you are playing s/s those items are even more needed than 2h as your purely about defence.
