I think that the hybrid classes have the hardest time with the new RA system.

I think that low RR guildgroups can kill high RR groups, providing they have the basics as said above, and also the group is nice setup, the TT setup is perfect imo for albs, I could even see the setup working with freshly rolled toons if the players were good. Communication over comms is also a prime factor. The low RR guildgroups tend to be big and people fight over spots, which creates an ever changing setup and the rps is shared across a large amount of people, thus its so minimal that people gain RR at a slow rate, end up feeling discouraged and plans fall apart and people go back to solo/duo, so it takes a good leader to stop this from happening, which is a hard task to master, especially the state the game is in at the moment.

Random groups are just a waste of time, you wont get anywhere, but thats to be expected.

i know where u coming from with this post and to a certain extent I agree.

You can go into a fight with a FG of decent high rr mids and if their RA's are up even if you get jump you just aint gonna win.

then again like these RA's are virtually across the board now, theres not much wrong with even overpowered RA's as long as all realms have access to them (which they do now)...

but really you take for granted how much benefit from the RA's you get yourself.

the real problem with daoc FG rvr is the class imbalance... its so hard to get this right tbh and the gap isnt so far out that its retarded or anything, but I would say that mid has a definitive edge, in survivability of their classes in optimum FG rvr. This comes from packing 3 healers, having intercept pets on their optimal casters, and generally having much more aoe interupt, and of course the dreaded insta stun which is a real I win in group RVR. (give bards pbaoe snare or pbaoe diese insta pleeease :) )

I havent encountered the same sort of resistance with alb FG's (even though im a novice in FG rvr) from my limited experience of coming up against the good alb groups we actually manage to win some of those fights, or if we die we take a few down with us and its a good long fight. I dont think this is because the good Alb FG's have less RA's or are any less skilled than the mid players, its basically because their group classes are less effective or more diluted

Also was doing some running around in battlegrounds where you have no RA's really and you can fit prety much everything on 1 Qbar. Then basically it just becomes who gets the CC of first wins. And this is how it used to be when daoc RVR first took off back in say 1.45. So what we have now isnt all that bad, perhaps just a bit unbalanced.
