It is a British server, and the timezone reflects that. It is not a server for people who speak English, it is just a British server. If you play for a one hour time difference go play the German or French servers. Dunno what your whining about, can't remember the last time an event was organised to GMT on Excal.

Why make a whole new post just because there is a grey area in the whole GMT/CET times??... And, even ask for a GM to back you up on it. Just so you can be satisfied with the fact that it all happened 1 hour later for you thean for me. Get a grip, who really gives a rats ass what the time is??. If, by your standards,,,it is 1 hour later and all in CET...you get a whole hour to play before we can log on. Do we ask you not to log on so we have a chace to catch up??...nope, that would be stupid.

So, don't expect us to log off just because you are 1 hour ahead of us. We have the extra hour to play with at the end...you have it at the begining,,,,balances out really (o:

And why moan at us if we can manage to carry on later than you lot. Stamina is a thing you learn, you cant expect it to turn up by parcel force on the morning of a RR. Play longer, and you will have the drive to see the job through to the end.

And, yes..i am employed (nights) and have 3 children, 2 of which i have to drive to school for 9am in the morning. So, dont class me as an umemployed no lifer, before you think about it.

Since [EN] and english are indicate the language on the server is English, the server is european tho hence daoc europe, now if it was [UK] United Kingdom then the time zone would be GMT, but now its CET. *

For all our Italian players who are wondering what is happening with the status of the Italian servers:

We are happy to say that we will be making a joint announcement with GOA on November 30th, giving explicit instructions on how the new servers will be hosted - including a plan to transition player characters from the old Italian servers to the new.

GOA is the company that currently hosts Dark Age of Camelot servers in French, German, and English (in the UK) and distributes the game throughout Europe.

It IS a server for english people, as an englishman this server is clearly advertised as 'for me', comming both from the UK and speaking english as my primary language.

Saying its for people who dont speak german or french is complete rubbish. It is used by people who can communicate in english without it being their native language, but no one forces our european chums here instead of german or french servers, its just that most speak english better than french/german and who can blame them, we got a lot less silly accents to type Im sure there are many europeans who speak french or german as a second language and would go elsewhere to play.

In other words its not CET

(I dont see any GM running in to congratulate you on being right atm, if you want more clues go read the news page and see if the times given for excal repairs/events etc are in GMT/BST or CET muhahahaha ).

Think about that for a while.

Parts of it orginated from latin m8, but also from more nearby sources, Gaelic for instance, the classic "Old English", Anglo-Saxon English, English is a mix of a lot've stuff.

French, German, and spanish (to a certain extent) all follow a much more similar latin orgination, and share quite a bit more of common phrases.

English is one big mix of all sorts, but the big mix was obviously done in England, not else where

This entire discussion is an example of the fact that it´s not always an advantage that your native language is generally considered as the world language. If people all over Europe wouldn´t (have to) learn english in school as their first foreign language, the problem wouldn´t even exist. (I mean.. not that there is a problem anyways, just some people like to construct problems out of nothing ). Basically, all you UK folks have the privilege that everybody else has to learn english. Wherever you go, you can be pretty sure that you´re able to communicate with someone, simply by talking in your native language.
And while this is a nice to have feature in most cases, it can also turn out to be a curse because people from all EU countries are joining the english servers to play DAOC, making it some sort of international server.
