I think its natural selection that Lakashnik is referring to, not to be confused with the Darwin Awards, given to people who kill themselves in very stupid ways thus improving the gene pool.

Perhaps Excalibur is really full of right wing christian extremists that are actually using DAOC to disprove Darwins' theories on evolution. I've always found the uber moron a difficult concept, having never met a real life chimp that was capable of installing DAOC and setting up the quickbar, let alone playing the game.

Maybe a part of the whole thing is classic insecurity. In the outside world, some people have problems forming and maintaining friendships as they see others as somehow better than they are, and thus find the anonymity offered by mmog's appealing in that they can be as abusive over the net as possible, and feel in some way in control? Daoc must be a real melting pot for those studying psychology.

On a more serious note, I do agree with you on the adding front. Personally, if you can have a command for not getting help from healers in PvE, surely you can create a command for not assisting in RvR. Not sure how it would work, though it would probably rely on you and your combatant both having the /no adding FFS this is a duel! command both active and both being ungrouped.

Then if someone did pop in to ruin the fight, they would get no RPs for assisting in killing you.

Of course, this is open to abuse, as if the winner still go the full RP allocation, they could get someone to assist in 1vs 1 fights to give them an RP boost.

Believe me, adds are welcome. I'm not precious about RPs or kills, my primary concern is that I live through a fight to the end wherever possible. I do try to avoid adding on fights where I think people are dueling, but for me I'm all about the winning by whatever legitimate means necessary.

I'll respect others by not adding where appropriate, as long as others respect me by helping out whenever possible.

I have no such insecurities that I feel the need to prove myself in an online game.

So feel free to add on my fights if you're an Alb, the Mids and Hibs already do!

Current Thid toon is Soshunjin, the average infil, with average Buffs provided by Mr Fluffykins, a rejuv cleric and very average BB. If you see him at atk, buffing anyone, hold still, because I try to buff every one who ports in that I can. If you don't want buffs, don't complain, just cancel em and I'll give them to someone else.
