so, I was at work just now and there was a chavette (??) trying to sing to red hot chilli peppers, it was like rhcp gone dizzy rascal :s.
Could this be a hybrid chav? or could the new chav music soon to be stuff like rhcp?.
Chavs, have you ever sang to any other songs apart from things about guns, N*g*e*rs (note i'm not racist just saying whats in most of their songs they listen to), drugs and "your low riders".
On the other hand, have any of you "normal" people heard chavs / cahvettes singing along to any other unusual songs for them ? :D dicuss

Uhm, RHCP are pretty shit, they used to be good, but now they've gone pop overboard and basically I coudnt care less if chavs like them now. They will listen to anything thats the 'in-trend', they don't care what it is, if its in, they'll listen to it. I don't really blame them, having a poor upbringing and poor family, your not going to get the opportunity to experience more independant, social events and appreciate the fact you can be 'normal', without having all these trends people set upon you, I think schools should focus more on teaching people to understand their own choices in life, and not go by others.

nononono rhcp still good ^_^ yes they have released alot of rubbish and such but they still are okay :<

but honestly alot of people tend to dress up like chavs so they dont get beaten up =) or to fit in because of the obvious peer pressure... although needless to say yes rhcp are appealing to a bigger audience and yes chavs may have adopted rhcp into there culture maybe more so because chavs are starting to get bigger into the drug scene?:) yes its true -_- once it was a small minorty and well you get the picture

If any 'heavy' music was gonna get popular with chavs it would be hardcore ofc, good excuse for them to hurt (or try to hurt) people. ;D

This is my own personal veiw of homeboys and chavs anyway

homeboys generaly wear baggy clothes which are to big for them (there is no set style burberry chavs for eg) this is also usualy designer gear which depending on the country can be expensive . there always thinking up new ways to dress to be cool o0

the drugs they take are also diffrent the mainstream chav will more or less be pill/speed heads while homeboys stick more to the green

homeboys are generaly usualy more chilled out and relaxed chavs are usualy more agressive (depends extremely on the area)

homeboys generaly listen to hiphop/rap/rock/metal
chavs erm afaik are more into pop/dnb/techno anything mainstream and extremely comercial?:p

I saw 2 chavs speeding down the street in a suped-up Ford Escort with a dump valve and a mega sound system yesterday. They were listening to hard house and the bass was vibrating the concrete underneath the car, and the dump valve just sounded so sweet.

God damn, I want that car.

no noes! we dont like the same music - my music taste must be wrong!

seriously, if you dont like my music taste you can stfu about it. I bet you think their old material is something like californication or smth stupid.
Also, it's very narrow minded to put it like that. You probably also only listen to shit music!

Saw RHCP in Edinburgh last year, I agree that their new stuff is more poppy but they're still great performers.

The Collins Dictionary has just added "Chav", "Chavette", and "Chavtastic" into their latest edition :puke:

I am now trying to figure out if the chav culture or dictionary experts are bigger idiots.... :m00:

The thing thats gets me is the fact when they perform, they have an arrogance about them that makes me sick and annoyed about the way music is today, there are lots of other 'good' bands out there, who don't take their position in music for granted, and have been doing it far longer and aren't in it to leech money out of fans (like myself) who struggle to buy over-priced tickets for gigs which you cannot see becuase its so packed, and you have to spend another amount of obscene money to get the good positions, which only hardcore fans get(fair enough), or yuppies who don't actually know who the fuck is performing, but just buy the tickets to say the've seen them, and when you ask these so called 'fans' who the lead singer is, or whats the name of their first album, they don't seem to have a clue, not only do I hate them but I also pity them, becuase 9/10 times the first albums are always the best. Conformers also piss me off, but i'm not gonna moan about low lifes like that.

RHCP were awesome in the "freaky styley/uplif mofo party plan" days, with Slovak on guitars. Mothers milk wasnt upto scratch but then the absofuckinglutely brilliant Blood sugar sex magik blew everyone away. Then they kinda had a nightmare with One hot minute, but everything else since then has been awesome.

Besides u2, rem, rolling stones and Metallica, how many other bands have been around longer than RHCP, and can sell out the biggest places like RHCP can? I cant really say RHCP are arrogant at all because they arent. Far from it. As for latest albums being crap compared to the earlier stuff, sorry but no. By the way is just as good, if not better than uplif mofo party plan.

ACDC, Def Leppard, Black Lace (Party Party!!!!)

Btw is it not in the nature of bands of that nature to be "arrogant"? Afaik its all in the "image" and tbh if i regularly did sex, drugs and rock n roll i'd be even more arrogant than I am atm :)

EDIT: Definition of regularly = 5 times a week!!!!

In a sense 'arrogance' is all part of the 'rock 'n roll' style, however theres being arrogant to the position in music that they are, and the arrogance towards the fans who pay good money to see a poor show, who put them where they are.

For example, the Hyde park gig, was a gig for them to make money, not to do a gig for their fans, it seemed as if they couldnt give a shit, they just wanted it over and done with, and if your gonna do a week long gig, then being lazy on some days imo isnt a good enough, I don't care how hard they worked the previous night, I paid good money to get a good gig and I got a gig full of arrogant twats who dont take their fans or the music seriously anymore. I didnt mention anything towards the bands music being 'shit' I was merely referring to the band in general, i like their old stuf but the new stuff just sounds repetative and too cheesey, even for pop.

The hip-hop only club in Newcastle is real strict with that, anyone wearing fred perry, lacoste, stripey jumpers, burberry caps, timberland (with the exception of boots) etc. is'nt allowed in.. which is great, no chavs ;)

And yes, went to magaluf this time last year and Tim westwood was playing a club called BCM out there was with 16 other mates some didnt want to go others including myself did so i went the ones who wanted to go and we must have stayed for 15mins max then went to BCM's sister club.. even the free drink couldnt keep us in.. his shows are pretty good.. but live the man is a prick kept banging on about dick's and telling all the guys to get their dicks out etc..

all i can say is lol..

you honestly cant expect a grp to constantly perform at their best.. there will be times when they are average there not gods ffs :p like soad in download i heard alot about them having a bad performance ^_^

although i will say that rhcp have brought out alot of music which quite frankly is rubbish.. and i have been following rhcp since i heard there album "blood sugar sex magic" like when i was 12 o0

I used to cringe when I listened to Tim Westwood on radio 1. What an embarassment. Upper class white boys just dont make gangstas.
