Fao: Casters

Taken from the runemaster tl report - the mythic feedback is in bold:

Interrupts - Interrupts are devastating to the caster. It effectively negates our ability to do anything, and those with Quickcast are being interrupted even while using that now. No one should be interrupted non damage instant cast spells, nor interrupted from an attack to which they are immune (CC).

Interrupts are part of the game, and that's not going to change. Quickcast should not be interruptible so bug /appeal this. (And yes, there are situations where quickcast may be prevented from being used, but it shouldn't be "interruptible".

As I mentioned in the last report, there are some bugs that are affecting interrupts and they are not the ones people think. Watch future patch notes for info on this; we really want to see how much this helps casters.

Having CC immunity does not equate interruption immunity. As I mentioned in the enchanter report, if we want to all discuss whether CC should interrupt at all, we can, but the immunity timer is just there to prevent chain CCing, and is highly unlikely to ever change.

Working as intended that a level 10 AoE-root spell can interrupt everything in an area of 350 range 1500.

And chaincasting AoE-disease no problem, it's a form of CC without immunity and it interrupts. Yeah all working as intended and casters still do great damage (omg he nuked twice, 1 normal and 1 quickcast then he died, he almost peeled off 500 hp of that 2300 hp tank!!! OMG!!!).

Lalalala, Mythic dont know fuck and almost every caster is useless 3 seconds after the initial encounter unless you got MOC up or meet noobs.

yaaaaay :great: Mythic :great:

/em is now gonna park and bind theurgist near a spellcraft table

Yeay, Magmatic will probably never reach RR8...

I'm so happy that I know that my Merc will stay uber compared to my caster

Think I'll stick with my merc rather than my mentalist then. Somehow having near 2400 hp and being all but unmezzable is more fun than chewing grass 5 seconds into 95% of fights.

Well, I currently love my Cabalist more than ever before. Honestly, being able to debuff your own damage is the way all casters should work IMO -- good damage but still fragile when you get close.

it's overpowered imo (comparing my enchanter ranged dd to my eld's)

I don't think casters should be doing the kind of damage they do when they nuke a debuffed target, but I don't think they should do what they do to undebuffed targets either.

A balance in would be nice.. I wait with baited breath to see the hinted at resist changes :p

atm mids suffer most from this since we only have 1 viable caster from range, Runemaster, sure a spiritmaster can specc in darkness too but i only know of 1 who have done that.

Mid got 3 casterclasses

Hib got 4 casterclasses

Alb got 5 casterclasses

atm. hibs got the upperhand due to best ra's closely followed by albs and mids comes in dead last.

Anyway i like to run around with my runemaster and bolt, dd, debuff alot. :)

Yeah i agree mids needs some improvements in there caster classes. Its always nice to see casters instead of masses of Mid tanks. Makes life just that little bit easier for my Wizard to kill and move behind my group and do it all over again ;)

Seriously this is a roleplaying game. If a Troll is beating a Luriken, dont You think its fair the luriken should just bend over, take it and stfu about it.

Just a thought.

Yes because albs dont need a sorc to mezz for them at all

Also mentalists + animists are *really* threatening to over take savages in weekly rp earnings and feature heavily in gank groups

Nah, not correct. Casters have it bad as a whole, but if we compare them against each other, I'd say that they are pretty much balanced (except for a few specific ones).

The damage that a darkcarver does after debuffing and then nuking is what casters should be doing considering tanks these days have 2300k+ rp's

500~~ dmg every 2 seconds seems a lot, but you so much as breathe on them an they are interrupted.

Dmg potential such as this would put casters back on the RvR scales again.

A mage channeling the force of the elements should easily outdamage some norseman with a big axe :x

Nah just fart from 2200 range and all casters inside 10.000 radius will be interrupted  ;)

Necros in rvr:

1) Get mezzed + ignored
2) After group mates are all dead a few people bash the pet while the rest of the group all crowd around the shade waiting for pet to die, so they can get the kill message.

The only thing a necro is good for in rvr is to provide druids/aluvian with kill messages xD
