I'd like to see a screenshot of that, seeing as how the hard cap is 515. I have never ever ever got above 515 without crits (over 600 with!), yet I've got exactly 515 hundreds of times.

-223 str i dont think it poss to get more evern with buff bonus (i rox)
-0 quickness or as low as poss (cancel D/Q we hitting PA)
- 1 medium rare blue con avalonian with no slash resist

and there u go over 500 easy

If you really wanted to be cool you could work out how much he hit me for and work out the % of my hit points he took off. You dont have to believe me, but the screenie was taken shortly after i killed him

the more quick u got => faster swing speed..altho tanks etc aint like casters (faster cast speed doesnt affect dmg) ...tanks have a to make up their minds...medium speed good dmg..or high speed low dmg..or in a pallys case...low dmg + low speed

so for NS's...eg.) u go peirce => 50% dmg from str, 50% dex...quick => speed
u cap str+dex(dex also evade/parry) and go 1/2 the stat cap for quickness wit no quick cap => u PA hard, altho in fight u wouldnt hit as fast..but hard.

and my champ m8...ok, melee speed debuff ftww homes !!!!

Lol been lookin for the owner of that scum bag of an NS, u and ur buddy with the same gah name are noobs, i mean really lads does it take 2 of ye to fight me every time, i wil duel both of u seperatly and prawn ye i 2 hitted one of ye prolly u, bring it ne time mate i honestly would love to kill both of ye at same time and i would be up for dueling one and taking other straight after, re poisin weps ofc , i mean u to are such greif play, dont think u have ever killed me without help, or on Mb/HB u poke me out of stealth and let someone else to it, omg n1 so wen u wanna duel ?

Chimaira is actually right here: the assassination styles (PA and Backstab I+II) are an exception to this rule.

Wyrd's Growth rate spreadsheet.
Assassination styles (BS, BS2, PA) work differently than normal styles. Since these styles can only be used as an opener from stealth, these styles have had the DPS portion coded out and just add a static damage value. This allows for assassins to use fast weapons and still hit hard with their assassination styles. Furthermore, since the assassination styles add a static damage amount, faster weapons actually allow for a higher DPS than slower weapons in this case. Thus, one can debate the benefits of a slow assassination weapon versus a fast one.

Anyway, haste only affects style damage and doesn't affect base damage, this means that the faster you hit, the higher your damage per second will be, although your damage per hit will be lower.

Also could someone explain to me how the above damage is possible, there is a hard cap on damage right? I have hit literally hundreds of casters for 515, but never ever higher - why can't I get higher if other people can?

I guess its not really nessecary to be able to hit for more, I only ever hit for 515 on casters or /level 20 scouts/infs, and its always enough to one-shot them. I just suddenly feel very inadequate!

Well when I do it I get 515.

The other tell-tale sign is when the style damage is more than the ammount that you actually hit for, and looking at a few screenshots that I've got, that is the case:

You perform your PA perfectly. (+1641)
You attack Firetinker with your axe for 515 (-82) damage.

I do actually have a screenshot to back up this, cba to upload it at the moment. Now if my PA style damage is 1641, then why did I only hit for 515?

So I'm 100% sure that my hard cap is 515, I just cant understand how anyone else would have a different hard cap, doesnt that defeat the object of a hard cap?!

U will never beat my NS with your weak SB.. and the BS about we popping u so others can kill u.. thats just a whine.. i have even soled u a few times when my mate have been killed.. u are one of the easier SB's in thidranki

and after i ganked u, and my mate was with me the 2 other times.. u had to grp with a skald but u couldnt find us

here is an advice.. if u will beat a NS.. dont try with your slow 2h.. then i have more chance for evade.. just so u know.. 2h is only good to open with on a PA

And u have never 2 hitted me.. i have capped stats resists skills everything... and u havent made around 800 dmg on me in 2 hits.. have u ever killed me without help ? i dont think so.. u always bite the dust
