I'm curious as to what off hander you guyes are using. From what i see on VN boards most pierce shades prefer traitors dagger. I made my template with croc dagger cause i liked the idea of the dex/qui debuff and the style+melee dmg. But the amewicans seem to like the life drain pets on traitors better.

So my question is, what do you guys use? traitors or CTD? I'm gonna use LG heat/cold has main hand if that changes anything btw :)

well,

the yanks are daft to say the least - reading VN is my morning comic relief.

in the end... it really comes down to how effiecient a template u want.

Some use Dual Legendary weapons , few use traitors ( overpowered lifetap proc ), some use Battler / Malice.

No-one can really say which is the best , altho i CAN say this:

with decent SC and Ra's - it doesn't really matter what you use.

I use dual LW- 50% more chance to proc a debuff.

Possibly using Malice and Croc would rock - also look at using the blade shadow - some nice stats there.

i play NS and Ranger . My first ranger temp was with Heater and TD. As it gimped up my template and the proc is really really really not reliable in rvr (it procs alot more in pve) I made a second template with GS and Bladeshadow. So far i am luving this.

It might work different on a NS or BM though with more CD etc...

Just my 2cents

I was using duel leggies and switched to LW+TD.

I prefer using TD but the stats are useless and the 15 DPS annoys me.

Its all about balancing your template. as a NS I would build it around SOM and Scalars see what you can fit in. like sly says it dont matter to much.

id say for NS dual legendaries is the most effective, for a ranger traitors in offhand

using battler/malice myself tho, and loving it

yeah... the idea of using LW in main and traitors in off sure sounds nice but as some1 mentioned b4, the stats on it is not that great ( utility ) and with dual heaters u will make MORE dmg ( and imo i rather MAKE more dmg then take more dmg )

But i guess this aint mutch of a help... all u can do is try both if u wanna find out :)...

Noone seems to have mentioned the Sun Wpns!! I have 3 main wpns I use: GS, LW and Sun Wpn (with TD around if I really need). Only mention the sun wpn because it hits like a hammer and procs loads. And GS is awesome!!!!

I don't play a shade but on my ranger I have the following 4 options. MP exceptional rapier (DD proc), TD, LW, MP adze (I think from Itet). Depending on each individual fight, I'll change to a different setup. If I need to finish up someone fast I'll use the rapier and the adze. If however it will look like there's a long fight, I'll use TD but not on the off-hand. For an NS however my belief is that dual LW are a far better choice.

There's my two cents...

I was tempted to try the Traitors dagger in offhand with my Ranger, but with the other arti's I had (normal ranger stuff - mariasha, gsv, gs) making a template that capped the lot with traitors was impossible. So its sitting in my 2h slot, for shademode and Im using a crafted angled dagger in offhand.

Nightshade is (going to, not got battler yet) using Malice/Battler. Fear the elph bladeshade! Or not.

I use 3 heat LWs:
con 28
heat 8%
cold 8%
AF 10

3 cold LWs:
same stats as heat LWs

and 2 MPplayercrafted weaps
mainhand:
con 28
heat 7%
cold 7%
matter 7%

offhand:
con 28
heat 7%
cold 7%
spirit 7%

all mainhand weaps: 3.9 spd
all offhand weaps: 3.3 spd

the spirit and matter resist on my non LWs can ofc be changed to whatever fits ones SCtemplate the best.

I currently use GS main hand with Traitors off hand and like the fact that Traitors has zero util so I can swap it out for VWP, Stinger, LW, whatever and only loose stat cap increases. BUT the proc is really the only reason for including traitors and it's so unreliable (4 procs in a fight then none for a week!) that i'm thinking of changing. I'm also coming around to the idea that you should use LW's OR arti's and not mix for the best results

IMO:

2 x heat LW > all vs assassins
2 x sun swords > all vs anything else (based on overall armour resist tables)
2 x spirit LW is a very interesting idea as they're neutral to everything and it makes swapping weps about simple

Or go fotm blades with Battler + Malice

:p

Tested out spirit lw main and blade shadow offhand, was somehow nice against everything but people who had groups. Grouped people seemed to have effective resists always near 50%, which made it kinda pointless at some fights unless lw procced.

Against odd groups and soloers was nice. Believe Alpha had something like near 5% spirit resist atleast :worthy:

But on killing other assassins: I seemed to hit about same damage spirit debuffed, as heat LW without debuff now
