So the guys at work run a fantasy football league every year but I don't usually bother seeing as I'm not a football fan. Last season though I entered a team made from a lucky dip and came 6th (of 15) which amused me greatly.

This year I'm wanting to go one better so does anyone play on the Sky sports FF league that could give me a good team setup? :)

Hmm well my selection on the one we have a league for here on this site is

Given
O,Shea-Vidic-carragher
Pinnear-lampard-essien-phil neville
Beattie-anelka-yakubu.

My team seems to be very chelsea and everton heavy i dont really know why i guess cuz united players are too overpriced.

One thing you will notice mate is that there are certain players that are quite procey but everyone picks because they have been consistant points scoreres for a few seasons now, Gerrard and Lampard being the best examples now ronaldo is gone. So the trick is to pick these same as everyone esle and then hope your others do well/

Personally i Think John o shea is a bargin at the price he usually costs considering he is now a starter in one of the best defences in the league.

probably not all that helpfull but hey i tried!

Because he is one of the best midfield players in the world and has not even realised his potential yet?

But you don't get points for a midfielder keeping a clean sheet, and he rarely gets an assist or a goal. Waste of a player tbh, better off throwing in Seb Larsson from Birmingham or Pienarr from Everton, you know they are going to get assists. Especially for the sky sports one.

I go for a 3-4-3 formation and I spend the bulk of my funds on strikers, wingers and a good goalie. I am hoping I do well in this years Barclay fantasy football.

I agree with you about the assists etc.

Can only have two formations on SP's 4-4-2 or 5-3-2 It's not the best but it's free and easy to keep in touch with.

My prefered game is fantasy league classic, we always have aleague in there, got a nice football manager feel with subs and stuff.

I think he will do better, but 20 may be pushing it. The fact he has a club now that believes in him will help a lot, do not forget he is still only 25 as well.

i have :
Almunia
sagna, evra, terry, Jagielka
Arshavin , piennaar, young, cho(no idea who that is, just lowest cost :p)
Marcheda - Torres

But i want marcheda out of there cause don't think he will play that much.. maybe need to get rid of sagna and get o'shea? he's a bargain.

Is it the sky sports one? Because it makes a difference because some give points for defensive midfielders getting clean sheets.

Jalielka is injured I believe?

I neve pick arsenal defenders they are to expensive for the points return because they do concede goals, (personally I always go for folks like haangeland from Fulham) the Team will keep a good amount of clean sheets rarely get battered and they chip in with goals to boot.

I'll take that bet old buddy :p

Wtf stop hijacking my thread!

I'm still waiting for a good team for Sky Sports

Ok mate i went onto the sky sports website to set up a team and im doing one up now...one thing ive noticed straight away is that if a player plays for one of the top 4 their price imiediatly jumps by about 2 million and considering the budget is 50 million this is quite abit!

on the flip side however they completly undervalue players at smaller clubs...arteta at everton for example is onlt 4.3 while cahill is 4.2...against gerrard at 7 million....so id advise staying away as much as possible from the player in "top 4" teams if you can

the team i chose on it was

Given
vidic, hreidersson, hangeland, kilbane
Lampard, arteta, cahill, Ireland
Van persie,torres

defence is abit iffiy in places but overall its not too hard to choose on the sky sports one.
