Friday
Headliners: The Flaming Lips
Support: Underworld, Prodigy, Queens of The Stone Age. (Would be a fucking mad night, that one.)

Saturday
Headliners: Radiohead
Support: Blur, The Libertines, Love.

Sunday
Headliners: Orbital
Support: The Manics, The White Stripes, The Roots.

Was gonna put Joy Division but frankly that would just be too repetitive in this thread. I've also realised that I'd like to see a lot of live dance bands.

Er guys, I thought we were doing a FESTIVAL lineup?
5 bands on each day? Around 5 hours of music?
Needs to be at least 8 bands a day if you ask me..

Hell no! It was bad enough choosing five. I'd have to take a week off to do eight.

Tricky question, since someone pointed out that 5 bands wont cut I made it 8 bands a day. Well here goes:

First day

Emperor

Nasum
Carcass
Nile
Bloodbath
Immortal
Satyricon
Marduk

The most aggressive day, grindcore and black metal shoulder to shoulder.

Second Day

Slayer

At The Gates
The Crown
Children Of Bodom
Candlemass
Pantera
Entombed
Hatesphere

Lots of oldies and more melodic then friday.

Third Day

Opeth

Death
Katatonia
Black Sabbath
Camel
Pinkfloyd
Turbonegro
Hellacopters

Slightly wierd lineup aint it. Think the theme is progressive/retro. How's that for wierd? Guess my own taste is pretty wierdly wide so guess everything wont appeal to everyone but screw that, it's my festival! :eek:

Fucking hell. You're joking. I guess emphasis must be placed on 'rumoured' but still...

Edit: Searching for 'Benicassim' in Google brings up porn for some reason.

Sonic Youth = Good Name (Andi don't really like this band)
Le Tigre = Good Name

Gorgoroth = shit name
Zyklon = shit name

At The Drive In = Good Name
The Libertines = Good Name

Rancid = shit name

Grandaddy=shit name(and i like this band a lot)

It's the apparent 'shock' that the Black Metal bands are supposed to inspire...but they just make me laugh and conjure up images of angst ridden teenagers contorting their faces like they're about to curl one off.

Possibly the greatest description of black metal ever.

I don't think any of the bands you named have "good" names. I don't think any of the bands I named have good names. :p Its just a name. Most bands names are weird, or just for a laugh. (Sum 41, Blink 182, Analcunt :)p) Dying Fetus, Cheeky Girls .. practically every punk/rock/metal/pop group)

I don't know about the angst ridden teenager thing. I don't really go in for the whole worshipping Satan or Odin thing. I just like the music. I think the majority of bands nowadays aren't teenagers though. They were at the beginning when Burzum, Mayhem etc started but now it seems to be people in there 20's. The corpsepaint..dressing black..moody dark theme is just to go along with the music. It'd be a bit silly if they screamed about Satan and wore pink or something. :p

I doubt Bjork will be doing any festivals this year as she's spending most of it in a Studio...but that studio is in Spain, which is where the festival is so maybe ;p

It's so cute when people show their age and level of maturity by randomly feeling the need of generalising and make silly comments about other people's taste of music in a thread like this. :)

It's almost as "cute" as when people feel the need to prove that they're above everyone by making comments like that.
