has anyone experienced these before? i recall having them in the past but the last few nights im sure ive had 2-3 per evening.

last night was particular weird though. i dreamt of waking up (from another weird dream i was having) and i was back in primary school, although the age i am now. it didnt seem odd as all i seemed to be doing was helping people, so i was actually there for a reason. although through the scene things didnt add up, and then my friend appeared (though she had a different 'image' i knew it was her) and i said to her "can i ask you a question, am i dreaming?". then her face kind of screwed up and then it gets hard to explain.
after her face screwed up, my view suddenly started to fly back from the scene and i got a weird feeling through out my body, a rush of some sort as my brain started to realize i am dreaming and took me out of my sleep. if my concept of time was accurate, this process took about 15 seconds or so and was actually quite a nice sensation.

just thought id share it, sometimes its interesting to read what weird shit people dream.

Well my dreams are weird these days, well, not weird, but i'm in the learning phase of controlling my dreams. Lucid dreaming that is.

Basicly i try to keep my mind awake while my body falls asleep.

You, in your situation, realised that you were dreaming and asked the question.

But since you don't really know what to do AFTER that, the shock of dreaming wakes you up.

This happened to me in my first controlled dream. Fell asleep, knew i was sleeping and went too quickly into the "have fun" stage. Shocked my mind too fast and i woke up.

I have these often, tris. Particularly when I've been depriving myself of sleep. I often ask myself the question "Am I dreaming?" during dreams, when something strange is happening in the dream which I just think cannot be real. But, I often end up believing that it is real until I wake up.

I also have the false awakenings, when I actually dream that I am getting out of bed and going downstairs to get a drink or whatever, and I can actually taste the drink in the dream, but I awaken and haven't moved out of my bed.

I suggest, if interested, reading that place.

It's not really "magic" that you can control dreams and do WHATEVER you like when you succeed.

Nice info on what things are and how to achieve things. I've had tons of fun with my dreams :D

I meant that you asked the question because your mind did suspect you were dreaming. Bad wording on my part :)

I often get false awakenings in the sense that i wake up in the morning, but then drift off to sleep again and DREAM that im getting up, getting ready for college etc and leaving.

Invariably I wake up about 2 hours later, late for college.

Some kind of saftey-measure by the brain to make sure you get enough sleep? Send you back to sleep but over-ride your sense of "ive got to get up and do this" by providing it to you in dream form? God knows.

Only done this once, dreamed a whole day at work, got home tired, fell asleep, woke up and it was lunchtime of the same day. I'd missed half a day at work, felt like I'd worked a whole day, but still had to go and work half a day AND take the morning as holiday.

Most scary thing i've tried while dreaming was being awake but still dreaming. mate came in with coffee, entered the kitchen and i followed just to find he wasnt there. went back to my bed and moments later i heard the sound of music from the bathroom, got up and ofc there was no music when i got out there. things like that kept happening, was really, really scary
