So, i've recently started to play fallout 2 again. Classic and suberb game all around. CAn kick any modern games ass-ets to kingdom come :D

But, this is the version where there are no kids and i have a few things:

A: Did the kid patch destroy save files?
B: Was there any real use of those kids being around, except ofcourse becoming a childkiller?
C: Were there any problems(like invisible children stealing your lootz) with them removed?

Just wondering would it be worth the hazzle of starting over etc.

You need to find the leather makers kid in one of the towns, but ofc with out kids it kinda makes if hard, but other than that never found the need for them and havent bothered to play the fallout compilation (which has kids in it) to find out

the kids in one of the towns nicks your stuff if you go near him, or if you play the no-kids, a floaty voice taunts you and you lose gear. cant do shit all about it.

keep em in for melty skeleton comedy moments tbh :D

I've just started playing fo2 tbh, but got a little bored already. Sometimes old school is really only good if you have a huge craving for it.

Playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma on ps3 atm instead.

Option B sounds like a great reason to buy the game... oO

patch before you hit any problems. The patch wont fix any fucked up saves but will stop them happening.

There is a fan made patch that fixes some of the remaining problems after the last interplay fix. Id recommend it (its not one of those crazy patches that alters the game completely, it just fixes dialog faults etc)

well obviously patch before running into them, but the problem lays in running into them somewhere AFTER you started.

First playing with the classic patch 1.02, restastarted with the 1.05 patch, then found out that it had some alterations(and bugs) and got the right patch.

5 times basicly started over(took a while to try things out again), and contemplating on starting again if i come up with something :D

Was playing the original Fallout today and came across Doctor Who's Tardis out in the desert, as I approached it to open the door the damn thing fired up and went on it's merry way. I really did laugh out loud at the time. :)
