True but the police do state that he was in a group not a lone kid picked on by a gang as the parents said.

Typical response from the parents, they would be slated if they came out and said look he was an ar**hole.

hard to know who to trust, the uk media are increasingly paid government hacks and that google cache item isnt exactly brimming with officialism.

Obviously the parents arnt going to shame themselves and admit their son was not worth the air he breathed every day, are they?

It wouldnt surprise me to find the post on that yahoo site to be true, but equally it could just be a random spam.

Then I am glad it happened, at least one scum bag of our streets is a good thing, I am also glad when one drug dealer kills another or one gangster kills another.

Scum killing scum is good for me and you.

Gamah has a point, there are a lot of kids with absolutly no respect who will never end up as anything but career criminals or crack heads. Seeing as the Police and schools are powerless to do anything and their parents do not care, then letting them slaughter each other may be the only solution. Battle Royal anyone?

Incidentally, some little gangster wannabe, cannot have been more than 14, tried to steal a huge knife from work yesterday. Infront of two staff, bold as you like, he ripped off the security tag and put it down his trousers and then tried to walk out. They challenged him and he started waving the knife at them before he changed his mind and chucked it and legged it.

that the kid that got stabbed was a gang leader and a violent thug.

Martin was no gang leader,he hung around with friends at the local youth club, but they were a gang of kids, not a violent gang.

martin was one of my closest friends, and often felt like a little brother.
he was polite, charming, funny loyal, type of boy even though he was 3 years younger than me,he was still my frind
at the age of 10 years old he protected me whilst riding his bike from a man pursuing me,a female friend of mine and martin, whilst two other boys we were with ran off,he stayed behind us girls and was kicking the man behind us to try and get him to stop.

Martin was a lovely boy,he was the type of boy a mum would want their daughter to bring home, always polite, very family orientated.he was brought up with morals and had a strong family background,he wasnt violent but cheeky,he would often wind me and other friends up to get a reaction out of us,but it was all in good jest.

the boys who did it have always had a bad reputation
the one that actually stabbed him had a criminal record dating back to when he was just 12,and was under spervision for kicking a man unconcious, when he killed martin and was known to carry weapons like a sock full of snooker balls.
the second boy was part of a gang known for causing fights in the local area.
sean clark aka 'whitey' was known to beat his sister and was part of the same gang who caused trouble.
rene john-baptiste was caught with an axe in a backpack that he said he found and was also known to carry knives!

martin had been in trouble with the police only once and that was for lighting fireworks underage!

so before you slate a dead martin, please dont assume that he was some kind of yob because he wasnt,a cheeky little sod at times yes,but no violent yob

Sorry north, although I appreciate your standpoint, and I (along with many others) sympathise with your loss, people far-removed from events will often have their say so on matters, and on a public forum such as this with a fairly open policy we won't act as thought police and restrict it. Thanks for taking the time to post here, and perhaps if you have a gaming interest you'll stick around....

I didnt comment about the facts. In fact, I went on to say that it seemed unlikely it was true and there wasnt much evidence for it. This is a discussion, not a lecture, so there will always be differing points of view. From the evidence available to us (two shitty articles, one now dead) we drew the conclusions we thought were sensible. If that offends you, then say so, but I won't apologise.

That has to be the most crass, insensitive, horrible thing I've ever read on this forum.

This person is defending the name of someone they lost, which each and every one of us would want to do if we had the misfortune of losing someone we cared about, and you write something like that?

Ok, folks, enough. Whether you believe it to be true or not I don't want to see comments like the above (will edit the post to remove).
