Just made an acc on this piece of crap. I can't for the life of me think why I should really use it. It just seems pointless.. :(

Holy Shit has 2006 come around again?!

Next you'll be telling us about how you saw a load of old school mates on friends reunited.

it is good for e-stalking.
Hence why I have nothing to do with it.
And also because I don't want anything to do with my old school "friends". :)

My mate wonders how people find info about him online. If you ego surf his name, 4 out of the first 10 results are to do with him. Thanks to Facebook.

Ego surfing my name throws up a hell of a lot of results... not a single one of them relates to me until quite a few pages deep into the results. :)

It's great for keeping in touch with people, e-stalking, and organising events.

Spent hours setting the damned thing up and inv friends, no one from FH tho cuz i dunno anyone's real name save OD's who I added. Then I had to e-stalk so I could block a few people from my past that might have been on there and then did so.

I still don't find it fun, although I got my twitter integrated with it now. If you want to be added to my page just send me a pm here and i'll sort it. I can't do without my FH :)

Simple: people sit in front of the PC and get bored so use Facebook all the bloody time to occupy themselves.

Just like us posting here all the time :)

hahaha!

You might find the love of your life

Old bean, from what I've already seen scrawled on my wall, no chance...
I found more amusement taking the piss out of the questionnaire of getting to know me than anything that has been put on my wall :)

Talk about inviting monotonous shit .... :(

It's the new myspace, just a "fab" which will die out slowly when the "next big thing" comes along.

Myface, lookme, etc.

Something will come along and people will think "you must join", which is kind of fun because i hear it fro "non conformist" people too :p

It's not a fad. Myspace is far from dying out as is facebook. In the UK it's almost an essential tool for those at University to keep in contact with people and organise events etc.

The whole thing baffles me - almost as if there's a hierarchy of these social networkers. Kids start with Bebo, then upgrade to MySpace and then grown-ups use Facebook.

I haven't looked yet, but that Twitter stuff seems fucking annoying already - I wish that fat twat Chris Moyles would stop harping on about it; I listen to his show while browsing stations for 2 minutes everytime I do he's always talking about twitter. What a cnut. :flame:

I agree completely. You'll find all events and occasions often go through facebook, I know they did at my university anyway. Birthday events for friends, society events etc all arranged through it and the reminders are needed for people with crap memories like me :p. Also with the chat bit as well its nice to catch up with people who say you wouldnt call.

You are very wrong, facebook eclipsed all the other social networking sites because it was based on being more "adult" than myspace etc. With the introduction of apps it became appealing to younger people as well. It really is going nowhere because it has covered all the bases, twitter may not die off, but it will never be able to kill off facebook.

The only use I have had for twitter so far is when the quake live site has been down so they put the updates on there so I know what's going on. But I haven't had to create an account or whatever it is you do with twitter normally, and they could have just as easily kept me updated in a different way.

I integrated it into facebook. After a few days of trying this, I am beginning to find the whole experience rather sad to be honest. Yeah I got friends on there, but really, I'd rather hang out here, there seems to be too much emphasis and expedience of what's going on in your life for facebook. Or at least that seems to be the heuristic of the way people act on it. At least here people have some thing to say that's worthwhile and at least funny....

It's not really for your online friends though Imgormiel, it's for staying in touch with your real friends, work colleagues, people that may not live close any more, organising events with ease. The photo element of it is great too, awesome for bad pics of nights out.

I think it is what you make it to be, after all, that's why there is an interactive element of it. My experience of it has undoubtedly been different to yours... :)

Your opinions on it are fair enough, let's wait..say...3 years and we see who's right ;)

It's the whole "you have to join" "everyone is there" "come on just join" things that make it a "fab" in my books. I'm waiting for the day when it's "internet thing" to slam your head against the wall and post a picture of your post-op.
