I wish i could say that the topi is meant literally and there wre hot and flexible female bus drivers that were f*cking me, but alas no, i mean the annoying sons of b*tches who feel they have the right to rip on you on anything.

Shortened version;

- At bus stop.
- Pouring down(ish).
- Bus comes around a corner, covered in trees and there's a 3'ish second margin to wave it to your stop.
- Same stop is a stop for 5 different bus numbers, all across the board.
- Bus doesn't have light on nuber(yei...)
- I'm not a supermutant 20/20 vision owning individual.
- I'm tired, mronign, etc. F*ck me it's one of those days.

I miss my mandatory "over here! person wanting to get to the city!"-wave by this much.

The bus stops in the middle of the road, i actually have to step on the street to get in, and then the bus driver goes;

"Something wrong with your hands? Wave a bit sooner!"

I mean...come on! I get that it must've been a REAL pain to see that wave half a second later then usual.

I get that it might eb annoying for the driver, but what HE should get is that i do this every f*cking morning of every f*cking day i go to work, as does every other person on every stop he's at.

Just could...well to be honest...it's your job to drive, not to be a wanker about nanoseconds

You have to wave to buses? Down here they HAVE to stop in pre-defined bus stops no matter what, no matter the hour (working hours are 5 AM - 11 PM)

Yeah it's a b*tch really.

It's due to the bus lines having so many bus stops and so many lines, that if someone doesn't rig the "let me out!" panic bell(ofcourse a MILE before the stop so the driver doesn't get his knickers in a bunch), or wave as aforementioned, they just keep on trucking.

haha I fcked someone up cos of that, I was waiting for no.29 bus for work. And a no.27 or something was coming down the road I moved to the edge of the road to see what number it was. at the last minute I moved back to the seat and the person behind me missed his no.27 bus as he couldnt wave it down in time. I was trying to not laugh for about 3-4 till the next bus came, as the other guy was going nuts about being late for work :p

"F*cking customers, can they ever wave before i pass the bus stop so I don't have to push the breaks to the max? Whats wrong with looking for the bus!?"

Thing is, i did.

As soon as the number is readable, i have to strain-o-vision to see the number(which wasn't even lit) and then when i did finally know i COULD wave it down(because you shouldn't' wave the wrong bus for f*cks sake...), it was near enough to warrant this moron to get on my nerves about it.

The thing bus drivers should learn that EVERY stop is a possible stop and that they are in a customer service job where the annoyance goes with the work.

I pay for these rides, rather heftily too(about 4e/ride...), so some customer service and understanding should be expected.

Obviously you don't really live IN the city if you have to wave to your buss? :) Get a driver license and a car and see the world get better!

Bus drivers are normally grumpy sods - comes from dealing with the unwashed masses (the public) all day i suspect.

However, to play devil's advocate:

Lets say for the sake of argument (and convenience) the bus is doing 60kph (40mph - average for a bus).

So 60/60 = 1km per minute

So 1000/60 = 16-17m metres per second

So that's at least 15 metres per second. So 1.5 seconds late = 21/22 metres close. Combine this with the crappy braking ability of a high-mass vehicle like a bus and you can see why they might get pissy. Bad placement of the bus stop tbh!

Oooh don't start on me about bus drivers. I called the local bus company and lodged a complaint on monday about the one I had, which was a shame because they'd just done the bus' up (I've not been on them for a while becaue was sick of paying to sit in filth just to arrive late somewhere) and tbh when I got on it I was like whoa nice!

anyhoo the bus driver was alright with me but every foreign person that got on he was being a real bastard to this muslim girl was getting on and didn't have the right change (down here it is not the rule to have correct change only) and the driver was really shitty saying he'd just got on duty and couldn't change it (practically shouting and being really condecending) anyway the guy behind her gave her the coin she needed to make up the right money and she was well embarrassed, next stop these language student guys get on and he starts yelling "come on get on hurry up your keeping these people waiting!!" which they wern't they were getting on before he started yelling.

Next stop 3 little asian gals get on and they ask if this bus goes to town, he starts with the sighing and eyerolling and basically 'how dare you ask me this question!' then one of them doesnt have the right change and he yells at all of them says they're messing up the timetable blah blah and you know when asian people get embarrassed they laugh because thats what they do so these girls all started giggling, poor sods.

anyway I was so freekin ashamed I got off 3 stops early and phoned in the complaint, if I spoke to people that way in my job I'd be out on my ear, I hope he got a right bollocking tbh.

True, the main problem is the bus-stop placement.

If it was like that in a non-residential area(luckily max speed is 40kph i think) so it's even doable.

i think there's a case of pissed off customers and pissed off bus drivers due to pissed off customers pissing off customers cycle here. vicious cycle i'd say :D

Here in århus about a year back, they fired all "old" the union drivers.
So now we'r left with unexperienced underqualified and apperently they've all to pass a cock exam with excellence. busses missing a stop used to be a non-possible event.
these days though..heh! and the best part...they'll actually try and convinve you it's your fault!

A few weeks back I almost smacked one of them, was on the bus with my step son,
and the best part of the whole trip for him is when he finally gets permision to hit that big ol' shiney red stop button wich he's been waiting ever so patiently for.. well you can guess the rest

lol i think you are safe, afaik there is no bus industry, down here at least, all the bus companies are seperately run so one bus company may be shite but the other quite good and even then you get some really happy friendly drivers in the shite company and some right tosspots in the good one.

and I'm pretty sure you wern't the driver from monday becasue he was about 75 yrs old with a stick up his butt

so the bus driver stopped and let you on... i don't really get what you're moaning about. i expect that if you drove a bus for a living you'd probably have a fairly nonplussed attitude as well.

The attitude, the public saying "something wrong with you!?" etc.

Just 'cause i serve you cake, doesn't mean i can call you a posh wanker and a cakef*cker in the restaurant.

Luckily i am not a driver :)

London is the same, even tho its all red buses they are actually ran by 5/6 different companies
