BBC News - Guinea pigs killed in Devon shed fire

Guinea pigs killed in Devon shed fire

About 350 small animals are believed to have been killed in a fire at a pet breeding centre in Devon.

Firefighters from Devon and Cornwall and police were called to the site at Little Cholwell, Dippertown, near Okehampton, at about 0030 BST.

Four sheds in a 66ft by 66ft (20m by 20m) area used to house small mammals, including guinea pigs, rabbits and rats, were completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire is being investigated, the fire service said.

Two vans and two cars were also damaged.

Poor little things :(

aw that's horrible (didn't read the full sorty tbh don't take much to make me dissolve into tears atm) :( One of the things I always dread is a house fire and my two not being able to get oot. I really don't like the idea of breeding centers though 1. because of this kind of thing, too many animals in too small a space and 2. because they don't need them, there are so many second hand piggies needing homes.
