The funniest thing about guinea pigs is the delayed reaction panicking they do.
Cos they're pretty much at the bottom of every food chain in the world, they're naturally terrified of everything there is. I mean even plants probably eat guinea pigs in their natural habitat. However because the average guinea pig is less intelligent than the average earthworm it doesn't occur to them to be frightened until well after whatever is going to freak them out has happened.

You can imagine the thought processes:
'Oh cool, it;s that guy who brings me that yummy food every day and strokes me and makes me feel nice.'
Hey cool he's got yummy food and he's stroking me. Hmmm that feels nice...'

...ten minutes later...

'OMG!!!!! OMG!!!!! OMG!!!!! something was just in the cage!!!! All this food appeared!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! OMG!!!! I'd better run around in circles making little 'wheep-wheep' noises in case that helps. OMG!!!! I've like totally had something stroking me!!!!!'

we often speculate just how the heck guinea pigs actually evolved.. and how the survive in the wild, as much as i love my little binary guineas they are a bit thick.

for example that night we had the break in... whenever me of mr ez goes to stroke them they run off like someone just put a rocket up their bottom, bald pitbull of a bloke coming through the window yelling and throwing stuff what do they do? wander up to the door and peer at him

after the event i go to put them in the hutch and they throw a right wobbler, sometimes i feel so unappreciated lol.
