External Browsers Joining To Servers

This is possible, presumably since the client patch.

I've not checked today yet to see if ASE has updated filters.txt, but it's easy enough to change it yourself. Just find the Battlefield 2 section in c:\Program Files\The All Seeing Eye\ (or where-ever you installed it to) and change the line that is like:

JoinTemplate: {EXEPATH} +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +joinServer {address}

to

JoinTemplate: {EXEPATH} +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +joinServer {ip} +port {port}

et voila. You'll still have to select which account and hit 'login' but after that it'll go straight to attempting to join the server.

xfire also seems to have support whenever they put their patch out (presumably today).
