I wake up about 5:55, just after 6 I hear some loud roar..Thinking wtf was that i turn on the news and it appears a fuel depo exploded in Hemel Hempstead.

I live in Slough (30 miles away) and I heard it though double glazing, loud enough to wake someone up..god help people near that depo.

The Panicbuyers were lining up in a queue over 30 cars long - blocking the road around it at my local petrol station...

it supplies Airports so shouldnt effect pump prices to much as far as I know, unless your into putting high octane jet fuel in your cars. Very bad thing though to wake up to and hear on the radio. Just hope all those hurt make a speedy and complete recovery.

Yeah. heard about that on radio when getting plants for my new aquarium, apparently junctions 7-10 on the M40 were closed due to being covered with black smoke from the explosion.

Hope everyone involved is ok.

Holy crap, hope it wasn't an act of sabotage, that was the 5th largest petrol refinery in Britain, I live near the largest one in Europe :eek6:

Well that's our Kyoto emissions bust this year then.

I can see that massive smock stack from my house. Looks creepy. Plus it got dark extra early today.

Now we just been told expect black rain tommorow.

wow, Doc coined the word i thought when i saw those pics, awsome. theyre saying on the news it was just an accident and not sabotage (but then the news said we'd just be having a small breeze in 87 and we got a hurricaine and that jean charles demenzes was armed and running away so i dont really believe then too much).

hope all who live near there are ok, saw loads of folks had windows/doors blown out of their houses tbh in this weather thats gotta suck. Take care kids.

just had to pick a route back down the country that didnt involve going down the M1, traffic is a nightmare because of this, they say the M1 should be open again by tomorrow morning.
