Ive seen multiple polls on realm balance from different sources.
Im just curious as to what everyone thinks it will be like or which faction will average higher numbers.
I really enjoy the Zealot class but im also a fan of playing the underdog and
from what I've seen Destruction seems to be the firm favourite for numbers =/
opinions and expectations?

Destruction is the more populated realm right now, might change many times before release thought.

It was same on wow where Horde was greatly overpopulated compared to Alliance on beta but on the end Alliance ended up having more players.

on a side note, don't forget WoW didn't have it's skills/styles/spells spread such as it will be in WAR... Alliance & Horde had exactly the same classes (unless you take pally & shammy into account before BC)

I think this difference is a pretty important one

From beta im expecting order to be outnumbered 3:2

Not that I doubt destruction will be more populated, but I dont think you can judge this by the beta. Seen all kinds of differences in population without the total server population changing.

It'll be much easier to tell once we get towards the end of open beta I would think. Most people I know intend to try out classes on both sides, will probably spend the first few days of OB doing that, then continue levelling up their favourite towards the end of OB to get a better feel for it.
I would say that generally for previous games, 'evil' seems to be favoured by the type of person who plays closed betas, while 'good' is generally preferred by more casual players. So overpopulation of destruction during closed beta isn't really much to go on, and it will probably all change when the game goes live.

Alliance/Order usually has more roleplayers, casual people also meaning they won't be pvp'ing as much. On the flip side, most of the pvp oriented people go to the bad side, meaning crazy scenario queues :/

this is of course a huge stereotype, but its usually true

I only partly agree. In alot of games the roleplayers in general pick the "good" side because it usually has far more back story. In the warhammer world the evil sides have just as must lore and story behind them. If you look at the tabletop game there are alot more evil armies available. We haven't seen Skaven, Beastment, Chaos Dwarfs, Undead to name just a few while most of the good sides are already represented (wood elves, bretonia) in one form or another. In terms of casual players I would think that destruction would significantly outnumber order.

With regard to RvR orientated people I would think this would very quickly become balanced. If you are playing scenarios alot and are outnumbered you will almost always have action which will not only mean you have more fun but allow you to improve as a guild. Guilds that have to wait 30 mins to an hour between RvR will quickly decide to re-roll if they don't enjoy zerging. So I think that for RvR orientated people it will be reasonably well balanced after the first few months.

Thats just not true.

It wasn't true in the beta either, yes there were slightly more Destro players, but that was never noticable in rvr.

More casual players will play order? What do you base that assumption on?

More roleplayers play order? Doubtful. You don't think roleplayers like Chaos, or Greenskins (THE main roleplay race by a country mile) or Dark Elves even?

Most PvP players will choose to play Chaos? Again, what do you base this on? Many of the hardcore DAoC rvr guilds are going Order as far as i can tell.
